Huh Denmark is weird. Didn't he leave to run track, then he came back this season and now he has left again.
Basically yes. I think the coaches talked him into playing football again, and then ironically never threw him the ball or used him on returns. Practice body I suppose.
Gonna miss Fox but if he didn't see the field this year then he never was, I guess.
Not sure why Fox fell out of favor...every time he played, he seemed to make things happen...hope they dont do the same thing to Cole Beck in a few years....

on a per-play basis, he has played above average. But there's no way he could carry that production forward with a larger number of snaps. Kind of like a relief pitcher vs a starting pitcher.

Except for our defense this year. Not throwing shade, just disappointed that this happened.
So who are we giving these schollies to? Seems the recruiting thread is just filled with nothing and people complaining about the nothing these days.
The recruiting thread did delve into a large argument, as is somewhat common with recruiting threads, but this attrition is often needed just to meet what we have for the current class committed. It's not necessarily 4 totally new scholarship to offer recruits, though it could mean that.
There's probably someone who tracks our scholarship numbers very closely and can weigh in more accurately on this specific situation, but as a rule of thumb, every time a player leaves early and opens up a scholarship, it does not immediately mean we will take another recruit in the current class.
As I said in the Savoy thread. We had 14 open spots, and something like 17 commits. We need more attrition to accommodate the commits we already have, plus any additional ones we get.
Is Chung getting a 7th year?
Per this 247 article after Kearney and Savoy announced their transfers, we needed 2 additional scholarships to accommodate the current 2019 commits per this 247 article. There's still a long way to go as we're obviously pursuing some JUCO DTs and there's some rumors of potential decommitments.
If this goes beyond the generally known rumors that Dorlus or Gary might flip to late SEC offers then...
Fullwood is such a disappointment. Basically a bust, at the time of his recruitment as a pretty big recruit out of Maryland. Had offers from Alabama, Michigan St, Penn St, etc. I was hoping for good things from him.

What bothers me most, was the minuscule usage of Fox.
Who would you take playing time from to get Fox on the field?
I would have him catching punts and kickoffs..while terius wheatley was out, i would have used him on the jet sweeps as well..
If there's anything we learned on Friday it's that we should have started using Tre on the jet sweep much sooner.
Since Fuente already does TB by rotation, I would've had him as "#2 back" or "co #2 back". This is my tailback arrangement:
-Peoples
-McLease & Fox switching off (I'd even have Fox cut into some of Peoples' carries because he's explosive & shifty)
-Wheatley
-Holston
This was another call/decision I disagreed with Fu & Corn. But I guess we'll never find out or know now. Even fans from other teams feared the shiftiness & speed of Fox. Heck, even analysts from espn named him as one of the key players to our success at winning one of our televised matchups last season. But Fu, Corn & Burden (whom has ZERO business being a tailbacks coach & should be moved back to receivers, I 1K% agree w/ fern on this) opted to bury Fox on the depth chart. I sincerely hope Fox will consider going pro (be it NFL, CFL, Arena, whatever). I think he has the skills to make noise at the next level. That's my opinion.
They also had this so I wouldn't put too much stock in ESPN research.
This is already a huge part of the RB problem. No one on this team should have been taking carries from Peoples this season, unless it was to give him a breather.
That's Fuente's style. He did it to McMillan. Why wouldn't he do the same to Peoples??
Because Peoples can block and catch passes.
Blocking sure, but McMillian was a weapon in the passing game for us. We did most of our designed RB screens and passing plays to him.
Both important to be sure. But (& I've said this before & will continue to fight on this hill) the prime purpose of tailback is TDs + yardage > blocking (& certainly over catching passes. That's what receivers & tightends are for). A running backs blocking ability does not (in mine or most person's books) carry equal or greater value than the ability to get TDs & yardage.
Speaking of which, between McMillan & Peoples, which back had the most total yards & TDs this season?? Also, which one had the more scout & primetime worthy footage??
So are you upset about Fuente rotating backs or not rotating backs?
I disagreed with his choice to rotate backs when McMillan was still on the team. I disagree with his rotation lineup this season (as I outlined above).
I thought the tailback improved dramatically from last year to this year. Fox was practicing at slot receiver all this season wasn't he? I do think it would have been worth trying him on kick return (which I assume he was one of the many the coaches said they auditioned).
