Hinted at this in another thread but wanted to keep it under wraps until it was common knowledge (starting to see it in other sites so I guess it's out there now). Webb injured himself again a couple days ago. There hasn't been an official diagnosis yet but it'll be another long road back for him. Feel horrible for the guy. Great kid with a wonderful attitude after his first injury.

Wow, thanks for the info. Do you know if it was the same injury on the same
kneeleg?I hate this for the guy, I don't like seeing people get injured. It's even worse if you double up on them.
Same injury. Rumor is different leg but my guy hasn't confirmed that either way.
If I'm not mistaken it was his Achilles, not knee.
Shit. Godspeed young man 🙏🏼
It was the other one. Hate it for him.
I guess the good news is there are eight months before fall camp. He probably misses spring camp, no?
God, that sucks for him.
More of a reason to keep Farley in the D-Block.
According to this article, average recovery time for a torn Achilles is 11 months. So yeah... he's going to miss a lot more than spring camp.
He was way ahead of schedule with the first one and could have probably played in the bowl if he was absolutely needed, so the first recovery took him basically exactly 6 months. If he's in the right place mentally (which he 100% was after the first injury), I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him on the field against Furman
That's good to hear. The last few games this year he was on sideline jumping around with the team and I couldn't see a boot or anything.
Yea, but the dude has had basically no practice time in this defense. Tore his achilles on the first day of practice and missed a bunch of time, and just tore the other one. He'll miss practice for bowl prep, spring ball, and most of fall camp.
What does that have to do with his recovery timeline? I replied to a post saying it would take 11 months for him to recover physically, not how long it would take him to get back up to speed.
Nothing to do with timeline. I'm just concerned with the amount of football he has actually played since he arrived and if we can depend on him to play significant minutes if he is ready to go by next season.
Definitely a concern. As is the possibility of him never returning to 100% if the player he was before the injuries.
That too. I was just afraid to say it.
I'm not a doctor and don't know anything about Webb's specific situation. I was just providing additional information in the form of an article which states the typical recovery timeline is 11 months.
Damn it
F-k!

Alright, aside from whom else we've already got, who else do we got? Any incoming croots? Will Nasir Peoples be ready??
Nasir has already had some playing time at Nickel this past season. He is playing more of the Whip position, he certainly can be moved.
I met Nasir's parents at the watch party this weekend. They seemed like great people. They were telling me about his recruitment, and how it came down to Notre Damn or VT.
Apparently, the arrogance of Brian Kelly was really bad in their one on one meeting with Kelly.
On the flip side they said Fuente was a real genuine person, and Bud was what sealed the deal.
Hate to hear that, will be rooting for him to make a fast and full recovery.
I believe he popped his Achilles and not his knee in his original injury. Are you saying he tore his other Achilles' tendon?
Yes, that is all the chatter now.....his other one.
Regular season ends and back to standard offseason news....
He was the trf CB right?
Yes, he was a JUCO transfer.
Has there been any thoughts on if he's going to try to come back or is his career over?
If it's true and he tore both his Achilles' tendon then I would be hard pressed to imagine his career continuing. Hate it for him but those injuries are extremely debilitating
Best luck to him of course, but I never saw him play. How the hell this happen?
How many medical redshirts can you get? Since he was JUCO, he probably had 2 years left anyways, so does he get any eligibility left now?
You can only get 6 years, you actually only have 5 years to play college sports once you start your scholarship. Even if that scholarship is in another sport. That duke bball player that was the QB at Cuse only had 1 year to play because he had 4 years of scholarship play at Duke.

Yeah, Paulus, thanks
Even so, since he was injured for all of this season, if he also misses next year he should still have 2 years left.
How does that happen when he probably hasn't even been able to train anywhere near full speed after the first injury, right? That's about as baffling as the incidents you hear of athletes hurting themselves getting out of bed. Seems like it would take a lot to tear an Achilles going anything less than half-speed.
My buddy, who's in great shape and takes care of his body at a well above average level, tore his Achilles taking a step towards a loose ball in a church basketball game earlier this year. These injuries can just happen in complete freak situations. It doesn't take a lot, just takes a little movement and a lot of misfortune.
While I wasn't in great shape, I tore min while playing football with 12 year olds. I basically was doing a 1st baseman's stretch to catch a ball and it felt like one of the kids stepped on my achilles. It took 2 days to realize that I'd actually done some damage.
Fun fact: when you rupture your achilles, you can still move your foot up and down (up from the muscles in your leg contracting and down via gravity when the muscles relax), so I thought that I'd just sprained something. It was misstepping on a stair, and serious bruising just below the calf muscle, that let me know that something was REALLY wrong. My achilles didn't just rupture, but it also shredded.
That sounds absolutely awful. My friend told me when it first happened he thought someone had kicked him in the Achilles as hard as they could.
Oh that's who that guy on 247 was talking about.
Damn. That is just terrible luck for him. Hope he makes a full recovery and is able to play again in 2020+2021, although I'm concerned that he might hang up the pads. At least he's got a (medical hardship) scholarship to VT to get his degree.
Did some work this past weekend and he did tear his Achilles and had surgery this past week. Likely won't be mentioned until end of season.
Makes me wonder if he had some congenital tightness in.his Achilles or received lots of antibiotics (fluroquinolones) growing up. Very unique and usually freak injury for it to happen twice.
