This image of Kyle Chung at midfield after his last home game was too powerful not to post.
We, myself included, get too caught up in the season ups and downs, and sometimes forget that these young men are playing a game that they love - this image captures the same feeling that all of us who played a sport experienced: walking off the field - or court - or course - or rink - or arena- for the final time.
Glad we were able to get these seniors one more game, and another month with their teammates and family.
This is home.

If I was Chung, I'd be one sad 27 year old...
First comment on the Instagram post is from his dad: "So proud of you son"
Towards the end of this season, whenever he got a chance to speak at pressers, it always cracked me up how he'd find some way to sneak in a little self-deprecating humor about his tenure on this team.
Reminds me a bit of one of my favorite quotes from The Office
Which, I always took as a message from the cast and crew to the fans as the show wrapped up
Creed put out a tweet yesterday for us to speculate and overanalyze.
Jenna Fischer put this one out yesterday (copied from AV Club)
See you soon, huh?
That would explain Rainn's pose then. Nice pull.
You should watch the SNL opening a few weeks ago when Steve Carell hosted. The entire opening monologue was about them bringing the show back.
I saw. "But Steve, think of the money"
It definitely feels like they're on the verge of announcing something. Though, I'm curious on what they'd do, because Carrell was right a month or so ago when he said the same kind of show would absolutely not go over well nowadays with how society has changed the last decade. Michael would have to be different, because the quirkiness what made him good then, would lead to social media outrage and backlash now.
Oh, and Stanley put out a single
Yeah, but even then I thought that the utter ridiculousness of his character ensured no one took it too seriously. Also, Pam and the rest of them usually called him out like a disdaining parent when he got out of line. But yeah, people will cry about anything these days, even if it is in no way to be taken seriously.
As busy as John Krasinski is, I just can't see him going back to the Office. Especially when he's made it a point that he doesn't want to get pigeon holed as Jim Halpert in his career.
The one of Frank and Cheryl walking off the field for the last time always gets to me no matter when I see it.
So you gonna post that or am I going to have to harass you until you do?
Get your horsey tissues out...
Wasn't there a shot of Teller like this last year?
You might be thinking of this picture of Eric Gallo last year.
That's the one
Right in the feels. I chose to come to VT as a student only over several small school bball scholarships, so my playing career ended a bit earlier than college. But damn if I don't wish I could lace them up one more time. I think all of us who played sports feel that the "last time" just blind sided us out of nowhere. Really puts being a fan in the right perspective. I think the good fans, most of us, get so heated about the losses because we want these guys to be successful. Sure, some of it is self serving, the desire to gloat over opposing fan bases (UVA), but for the most part we just want these guys to enjoy the success that should come from all their work and sacrifice. Here's to hoping better days lie ahead for this program.
Well said, wildturkey84. Well said.
