I love how the Arkansas administration could have said the he was recovering from a motorcycle accident and resting in his home, but instead they were like, 'No, get your cheatin-ass, neck-brace-havin-ass, scraped-up-face-ass out in front of the damn cameras and get shamed like your rotten ass deserves.'

I like this for the ACC. I think he's too good for Louisville's athletic department though. I do not like this for App St. I liked seeing them succeed.

With the Mountaineer Force running very strong in my family, I have to say that I'm sad Coach Scott is leaving. He is the consummate Mountaineer, and North Carolinian.
However, there's probably a low ceiling of career satisfaction in beating up on Troy every year, winning the Sun Belt, and then getting to play Middle Central State Tech in the Farmer's Feed and Seed Cow Patty Bowl every year. Depending on who he brings with him on defense, Louisville could make some noise in two or three years, and I might just have to become a double secret closet Card fan on the side.

I've been pulling for App St like a little brother for a few years. I was leaning to think Coach Scott was shaping them to so well that they'd get an American Conference offer soon and then possibly maybe one day a power conference bid (fan base is definitely there even though the market is meh. Also won't be the ACC, Carolina schools would roll over in hell before they add another; but would be hilarious to see App beat out ECU!)

I wonder if Mike Houston is now regretting his decision to go to ECU? Both he and his wife grew up in Western NC, and he has been very public about getting a chance to go back close to home when he was rumored to be taking the UNC Charlotte job.
App State is a little more stable than ECU in my opinion.

App State might be a little more stable, but ECU is in the better conference. He has a better chance of getting to a NY6 game coming out of the AAC than the Sun Belt

I'm little surprised they got Satterfield. I'm not sure if I was him I would jump into that mess. Good news for us is that we should get them in 2020 while they are still in rebuild mode.

I wonder what happened to Brohm? Did they not offer, or did he turn them down? If he said no, was it over money, or not wanting to deal with the dumpster fire that their program is right now? Brohm to Louisville seemed like the biggest lock of the entire coaching carousel season, even before Petrino even got canned. How bad must it feel when you can't even pry one of your own alumni away from PURDUE? Yeesh.

Purdue gave Brohm a fat contract, and from reports, Brohm is just happy at Purdue. The rumor is that Brohm thinks a big time job (Auburn) will open next season, and he'll take that job when it opens.

As a former player of Satterfield's, I'm extremely happy for him and his family. He will do a great job at Louisville. App will be able to bring in a good coach and continue the strong Mountaineer* winning tradition.

This guy is not impressed
I wish I could find it, but one of the great moments of Blue Mountain State (the movie sucked, however) was when Coach Marty Daniels parodied that.
To funny! When I noticed the thread I was going to post that I hoped the new coach didn't have a Harley.

That was less about Arkansas administration being "stand up", and more about the media demanding it.
The Arkansas administration was actively working to separate themself from his actions.

I agree. I just hate that it's Louisville for his sake. Maybe he can throw some water on the dumpster fire.

Great hire, happy he's not going to GT. Neil Brown is the other G5 name that I expect to get a job soon. We shall see.
It looks like UVa's permanent cross-over just got an upgrade.

Satt Scotterfield
And the entire campus of Purdue just breathed a huge sigh of relief.

Sounds like a good plan. He can always go back home to Louisville after Auburn fires him for the unforgivable sin of going 9-3 in his first year.
