Top 5 for the confidence style bowl game pick 'em

Slow news week for the Hokies. We've discussed Mt. Rushmore...now here are my top 5 confidence picks, not in specific order:

Auburn over Purdue
Wash St. over Iowa State
Georgia over Texas
Penn State over Kentucky
A&M over NC State

What are your top 5?

I did not upvote this. At +16, the net upvote count was reminiscent of UMBC's seed in the most recent NCAA men's basketball tournament, wherein they became the first team of such seed ever in the history of said tournament to win a game. Their oppoenent was UVA, whose men's basketball team was not only a #1 seed, but the overall #1 seed, making their loss much more memorable.

Right now, the comment is at +20.

That was UMBC's point differential at the final horn.

No, I *don't* want to go to the SEC. Why do you ask?

I'm shocked only one person has uva losing in their top 5. It's literally a given

Onward and upward

Is it really a given? The sample size is so small that predicting UVa bowl game performance is a dicey proposition at best.

It's a fair point. But I think my argument that they're loluva trumps yours

Onward and upward

SCAR over UVA
Memphis over Wake Forest
Boise State over Boston College
BYU over Western Michigan
Clemson over Notre Dame

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

I'll have to go with:

1. Georgia over Texas ( could get ugly)
2. Clemson over ND ( way too much talent for ND to handle)
3. GT over Minny ( Everyone else hates him, but his players love CPJ and will send him out with a W.)
4. Memphis over Wake ( no explanation needed)
5. Utah State over North Texas ( USU is sneaky good this year. UNT is freakishly inconsistent)

Can someone bump the bowl pool thread or post the link? Thanks, I'm a goob, I know it...

USCE over LOLUVA has to be the easiest pick of the entire slate, no?

There's absolutely no way either front for LOLUVA holds up for even a half of football.

Is coronavirus over yet?

  1. Syracuse over WVU - With Grier out, and Syracuse's offense looking better each game, I don't know how WVU can win.
  2. South Carolina over UVA - LOL UVA
  3. Clemson over ND - Clemson looked like a complete team the second half of the season, ND looks like the ND that got spanked by Bama years ago
  4. Fresno over ASU - I know the game already happened, but I didn't see anyway the fighting Herm Edwards could beat one of the best coached teams in FBS. Fresno might be a top 25 team (or higher) IMO.
  5. UGA over Texas - I'm a little warey of this one, just because Tom Herman teams seem to always play great as the underdog. I can also see a scenario where UGA comes out flat after thinking they should've beaten Bama in the SECCG. Gut feelings aside, looking at the numbers, UGA is an obvious favorite.
