I believe we have some X number of consecutive years of players being drafted. This could be the year it ends. Do we have any hope? Ricky Walker? Nijman?
Ricky Walker was getting a lot of attention at the Senior Bowl. I expect him to get some third day looks from the NFL draft along with Nijman. Those are the only two that come to mind immediately. I could see some OL or Peoples getting snatched up on UDFA deals.

Must admit, I'm a little puzzled at the Mook draft buzz. We have had more productive players not get drafted over the years. He is a hybrid player too. Is he a true corner? Or a safety? Chuck Clark and Adonis were 6th round picks. They were much more productive college players, IMO- with Adonis having "freak" size for a corner. I guess Mook could get picked in the 6th-7th round, but I would be surprised if its before that.

Hybrid players are in-demand all throughout the league. Hybrid players on offense is nothing new (think of your classic "swiss army knife" cliche), but defensive hybrids players are important too. LB/DB hybrids and DE/LB hybrids and DE/DT hybrids, etc. If you can play a variety of looks and coverages without changing personnel, you have an advantage.

He can but does he do either consistently. I think consistency was one of Mook's problems. You can see him hustle and play really hard one play and literally stand around on another.

When he was playing he was one of PFFs highest rated Nichol Backs in the NCAA.
I think someone will take a late round flyer on him as there is a huge need for hybrid players in the NFL right now, specifically Big Nichols who can play the run and the pass.

I think Ricky Walker is the best bet this year, but probably late rounds. If we don't get any players drafted it would not be a huge surprise particularly with the players leaving early that would have been part of this years draft class if they had stayed.

yes mook.

That is the shrine bowl. A much less "prestigious" game. The Senior bowl is Jan 26th.
Peoples would thrive in a place like New England.
The other thread made me think of this but Dragon would be great too. He was pretty great catching passes out of the backfield
Sure. Maybe if he's given a chance (unlikely though). He's probably just gonna be practice squad fodder.
Walker will get drafted. Nijman has a good shot at being drafted on measurables alone. Mook should get drafted if we want to still count him too.

Hybrids have to tackle or cover or both. Can mook do either?

Adonis was in the supplemental draft. I think we would have been a pretty high round this season.

I hope he is, but I don't think it's any better than 50/50 odds that Walker gets drafted.
But I agree that Walker and Nijman are our best chances to have someone's name called.
Any chance Kyle Chung gets drafted?
Unlikely, but his dad's connections will get him some tryouts and possibly an UDFA deal.

As has been posted on here many times, it's not a good look.
LOLUVa had a 33 year draft streak that ended
last yearin 2017. Clearly this correlates with their 33 years of CFB domination...Micah Kiser got drafted last year.
dammit, edited.
Walker will be picked as a 3-4 DE by a team which runs 3-4 as a base. He would have been a perfect fit at DE on a Bill Parcells scheme defense.

Nijman is the only Hokie. Surprised no love for Walker....
That's because he has the "measurables"
