Week 10 has arrived with a whimper. Other than the "We're Back Bowl" featuring two undefeated, top 10 ACC teams, this week's TV schedule isn't good at all. And yes things got weird as this is the second week of the last three where the marquee game features ACC conference play. This going to take some getting used to.
A blast from the past for all the Nole haters. For you youngens, FSU kickers in the 90's were #goacc before #goacc was a thing. Piss poor kicking in Tallahassee during Dadgumits prime might have cost him 3 more national titles. It's not #puntingiswinning, but #betweentheuprights is the second tenet of the Frank Beamer coaching philosphy.
The Games
Saturday, November 2nd
Virginia Tech -4.5 at Boston College ~~ 12:00 pm (ABC / ESPN2)
- Why this game? Because I like to see you squirm and picking VT to cover at BC is a sucker's bet
- The best homefield advantage in the ACC? Not Death Valley, not Lane, not Doak ... a nooner in Chestnut Hill. Half filled, piped in music and the road team sure as hell doesnt want to be there
Pick: BC to cover, not because it's a nooner, but because the Hokie offense is a bag full of welp
***
24 Wisconsin -9.5 at Iowa ~~ 12:00 pm (ABC / ESPN2)
For the Heartland Trophy

- Why this game? Have you seen this week's schedule, woof and I like any chance I get to show the Iowa away lockerroom
- I have a soft spot for Wisky and feel they might be underrated. An early kickoff, away vs a ho-hum opponent, let's see if they can take care of business when its not an A opponent
Pick: Iowa, because nothing I want or believe in is happening for me this year.
***
21 Michigan at 22 Michigan State -5.5 ~~ 3:30 pm ABC
For the Paul Bunyan Trophy
- Michigan State is going to all but shutdown Michigan's Offense and vice versa and that's not because the Wolverines have a good defense ... they don't
- This is either separation Saturday in the Legends division for MSU or things are going get weird. Brady Hoke needs this win or doubt my seep in?
Pick: Michigan getting the points, but MSU winning. It will be a close game and damn near unwatchable if it's not your team, the midwestern's version of VT.
***
Florida vs. Georgia -2.5 ~~ 3:30 pm CBS
The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party
http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2012/10/29/3571988/georgia-flor...
I'm only here to do two things, drink some beer and kick some ass. Looks like we're almost out of beer. ~ both fan bases
Pick: UGA covering the points, because ... I ... ummm ... look these teams are down multiple quality starters each, who the hell knows whats going to happen.
***
10 Oklahoma State at 15 Texas Tech -2.5 ~~ 7:00 pm FOX
- So the Okie State cowboys are the no. 10 team in the nation ... uh huh, sure. This shit bag conference shouldn't have any team outside of Baylor in the top 20, it's that bad
- Kliff Kingsbury was exposed a bit last week and not how he normally is ... right ladies?1? Win this week and the Red Raiders are still ahead of schedule
Pick: Texas Tech laying the points. Lubbock is a weird place to play, even more so for an evening televised game. Amped atmosphere and Okie State's D ... a big TT win.
***
7 Miami at 3 Florida State -21.5 ~~ 8:00 pm ABC

- Two words describe this game Florida Man," be ready for the weird headlines Sunday morning
- The ACC has great self-depreciating fan bases, if you exclude FSU when they are winning and Miami fans always
- I should have more to say, but I think Miami is a fraud and FSU is for real, theres a reason this spread is the highest ever for a matchup of two top 10 teams
Pick: FSU laying the points, its going to be a curb stomping. There can only be one (back.)

Happy picking and go Hokies.

Comments
I picked against the Hokies when we played Pitt and lost. Not doing it again. Hokies win
Wisconsin because I have no idea why
Michigan covering but Michigan States defense winning them the game with more points than their offense
With Gurley coming back, Georgia takes this one
Guns Up Texas Tech
Miami because that's a huge spread and it's a rivalry game. Crazy things will happen.
VT comes out fighting, covers and wins outright
Wisconsin, but I have no idea why because #gobigten
Michigan State, because why not
Georgia, with Gurley back that will be enough to cover and win against an anemic UF offense
TT, because the coach and the university seem to love alliteration
FSU, because Miami's O can't keep up and Jameis is going to cut up the Miami D like pie, so #teampie... but you can also cut cake, so #teamcake...? No, he's going to slice them like bacon... #TEAMBACON

BC, because I've been wrong on every VT spread so far?
Whisky, becasue that's what I'm drinking
Sparty, because the chick at my office went there and she's pissed at me
Georgia, because dogs are better pets than gators since they don't eat your gators
TT, because they're closer to me, maybe.
FSU, because there aren't gonna be boats and hos for a while.
Virginia Tech - Winning by 10... F-it!
Wisconsin - Vandenberg still plays for Iowa right? Pretty sure he played there for at least 10 years... poorly (Can pass that judgement because I was the best damn QB to never actually play a snap in that position)
Michigan State - Midwest version of VT... Sold with the points!
Georgia - Dark Knight Rises happens and whatshisnuts (please let me keep my guy card, I can't remember his name) blows up the field and both teams disappear
Texas Tech - Every overrated team needs to fall on their faces... I'm just spiteful tonight
Florida State - and points... See Georgia for end result

Virginia Tech -4.5 at Boston College -- KEEPING THE FAITH FOR A HOKIE COVER AND WIN! I BELIEVE!
Wisconsin -9.5 at Iowa -- I'll give the Hawkeyes the points
Michigan at Michigan State -5.5 -- MSU because Muck Fichigan
Florida vs. Georgia -2.5 -- All I've heard about since moving to Jacksonville is this damn Cocktail Party and whether the Matthews Bridge will be ready by this weekend (a barge hit it). I'm guessing the Dawgs will cover, and the Bridge will stay up.
Oklahoma State at Texas Tech -2.5 -- Uhh, OSU 'cuz I don't think the Red Raiders can pull off the win
Miami at Florida State -21.5 -- 'Noles and I hope they're as ready as they were against Clemson.
Man, BCO, you're hitting me where I live with this week's games! The Tech game and my wife's Hawkeyes? Geez....
1. VT - Going out on a limb and saying that we actually cover this week.
2. Iowa keeps the spread lower than 9.5, but disappoints my wife by losing the game.
3. MSU wins but only by 3
4. Dawgs win and cover. The game is renamed The Worlds Largest Outdoor Triage.
5. The Flying Kingsburies win the game big. By lots.
6. FSU wins and covers. The four young ladies above are playing D-line by the start of the fourth quarter. Miami doesn't gain a yard due to multiple holding penalties.

Note: These are not my pick six picks.
I hope not.
No asian chicks this week???
Virginia Tech - Maybe they are just used to a noon game routine
Wisconsin - The vision of offense that Beamer wants
Michigan State - The mid-west version of current VT
Georgia - They get a few starters back
Texas Tech - Think I heard a rumor that Kliff hooked up w/ Jessica Simpson b4
Florida State - Tons of recruits there and FSU needing style points = full throttle #BEATEMDOWN
Still at .500 think this week will get me off that for better or worse

Virginia Tech
Why VT? Well I was just in Boston for work. I flew a total of 11 hours to talk for 2 hours. I slept approximately 8 hrs in a 48 hr period. I stayed at a hotel between MIT and Harvard. I sat on the plane beside a girl that was going to Harvard Business School after graduating from MIT a few years ago. The Red Sox won. AT HOME. So besides being tired, behind at work and feeling pretty much like a dummy from everyone I met, I kicked ass at my work gig. Oh, and I am a Hokie. The worst thing for BC, besides no Spaz and the Red Sox winning the North American Series is that VT was lackluster on offense and lost last week. I imagine Frank won't quite take the handcuffs off the O, but he may give it a few cigarettes. I will be watching BC at a bar at 9am b/c why not. #goacc
Wisconsin
Meh. B1G football is bad and this is a bad game. Wisconsin is always a great team as long as they are not playing anyone good. They are not playing anyone good tomorrow.
Michigan
Everyone is on the MSU bandwagon. I am going with my opposite George theory. Denard Robinson sure if fun to watch though.
Georgia
Georgia has more injured players back, I guess. I wonder if Texas is looking to hire Will Muschamp away from Florida right now.
Texas Tech
Bad teams but this good be an exciting game with "I am a Man" against GQ Kliff. Texas Tech shouldn't have any trouble.
Florida State
Well I almost always go with the chic picks and I am sticking with it here. Also, Miami at #7 is more laughable that Oklahoma St at #10. I am old so I am very familiar with wide right. These games were usually the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving if I remember correctly. This was a great game before #goacc. Now it will just be an ask kicking.
I only had wine to drink tonight and I don't think anyone is interested in the tasting notes of the Ammarone I drank.
Rogers tomorrow at the bar.
Go Hokies!
Virginia Tech, but BC covers. Would predict 3-0 score, but doubt we would hit the FG, so 2-0 on a walk off safety.
Wisconsin
Michigan State
Georgia to win, UF is just too hard to watch.
