On a thread dedicated to condiments, I feel like we should only talk about football. Just for symmetry.

"Exit light..."

All Decade VT team for the 2010 - 2019 stretch? Year early but I'm down to start the ball rolling.

Lawson and Harris are the easy choices for the all decade team

I think there's a very real chance that Ryan Willis will end up being our best QB in this decade.

If he were to exactly repeat his production from 2018, he'd finish the decade with a 48-18 TD-Int ratio, compared to LTs 52-39 ratio from 2011-2013.

Honorable mention to Jerod Evans, who almost certainly would have held this distinction if he had stayed for his senior year.

Also, those sauces are gross.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me.

Boi. Tyrod Taylor was on the 2010 team. You put some respek on that name.

Preach

Yeah, I love Tyrod but I can't take the season that he lost to James Madison and consider that worthy of an all-decade list.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me.

Oh you mean the season we won the ACC and went to the Orange Bowl? Yeah, way worse season then when we scheduled Marshall to save our bowl streak.

We also went undefeated in the ACC that year

"The Big Ten is always using excuses to cancel games with us. First Wisconsin. Then Wisconsin. After that, Wisconsin. The subsequent cancellation with Wisconsin comes to mind too. Now Penn State. What's next? Wisconsin?" -HorseOnATreadmill

This is so wrong I don't even know where to start...

My take (might be hot but I don't care): Tyrod is the best quarterback, and arguably the most exciting offensive player (a couple tailbacks and wide outs probably up there too) to suit up for the Hokies at any time between 2010 and current.

David Wilson, Bucky Hodges, and the duo of Ford/Philips would be on my list as well. That would be a nasty offense.

Let me just be clear that I'm not bashing TT at all. In my book he's one of the best 3 QBs to EVER play at VT (Vick being undisputed No. 1, with Bryan Randall No. 2 in my opinion).

But he only played one season in the 2010s, so if we're talking about all-decade you can't take his entire career into account. If we're saying who was the best QB who played at some point in the decade, then that's Tyrod for sure.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me.

Bryan Randall? Don't get me wrong I loved the guy but not sure he beats out Druck or Furrer or even Logan Thomas as far as all time greats. If Marcus did not get in so much trouble and kicked off the team Randall would not have beat him out for the starting job.

That being said Randall is definitely one of my favorites but no way is he better than TT in terms of best to ever play at VT.

That's a solid take. Those are all great VT QBs, although Randall's career rankings in passing yards (3rd) and TD passes (2nd) puts him well ahead of Druckenmiller (9th and 6th, respectively) and Furrer (5th and 5th).

As I mentioned in another comment in this thread, Logan Thomas pretty much owns the offensive record book at Virginia Tech.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me.

You can when it was followed by a struggling 9 years.

Five star get after it 100 percent Juice Key-Playing. MAN

From 2011-2013, Logan Thomas had a school-record 53 passing TDs, a school-record 9,003 passing yards (with 3 of the top six seasons in VT history), and was 9th all-time in rushing TDs with 24. He finished his career as Tech's all-time leader in total TDs (77) and total offensive yards (10,362).

It's true that VT started to slide shortly after Taylor's time there, but Thomas did win 26 games in the decade, including an 11-3 mark in 2011 (identical to Taylor's 11-3 record in 2010).

I had actually forgotten how productive Thomas was. Not bad for a tight end.

I think Grimsley has a break out year this year.

(add if applicable) /s

I thought he would lead the WRs in touches. It seemed like the middle of the field was off limits late in the year, and they didn't target Grimsley much on the jump balls.

Good, because I really would like to discuss which WR we currently have that will fill Eric Kumah's role.

On the one hand, I just threw up in my mouth a little there.

On the other, practice safe lunch. Use condiments.

I do art stuff.

Since I'm a hipster, I just use Hunt's on my ironic burger.

"What kind of person would throw away a perfectly good dog?"

Hunt's inferiority to Heinz rivals Miracle Whip's inferiority to Duke's.

A blind taste test was conducted among 1,000 people between Hunt's and Heinz and you won't believe the result...

"What kind of person would throw away a perfectly good dog?"

you're about to put the answer in a slide show aren't you?

I will stick with the original Mayochup, all these spinoffs are Fake News.

I grew up with Salsa Rosada being offered at any grocery store in Venezuela, so this was not very shocking to me when it came out here in the States.

In fact, I usually make a mix of mayo, ketchup and a touch of mustard to dip chicken nuggets in.

My wife also says i'm a criminal for using multiple sauces when I prep a hot dog for consumption (to include Ketchup)

#sauces

Yeah I used to mix these up way before they became an official sauce. Picked up the habit from my supervisor at a summer job in college.

Guess we are criminals together then.

When I was in first grade, kids would ask for ketchup and mayo together and call it Thousand Island.

I tried it once, hated it, and threw up in minutes. Haven't willingly touched mayo since that day.

My mom used to mix ketchup and mayo together for salad dressing growing up. I guess it helped us like salad back in the day.

Do you actually purchase this? If so, how is it?

I had no idea Mayochup existed until I saw the hoopla about the two new sauces earlier today. On second thought, I'm not sure why I'm asking because to be honest I'm not buying it regardless. Ketchup tastes too sweet to me these days so I'll just use mustard for fries or hot dogs.

*FTFY*

"What kind of person would throw away a perfectly good dog?"

This is incorrect.

Lately I've been doing 1/2 Polynesian and 1/2 Sriracha. Game changer.

"What kind of person would throw away a perfectly good dog?"

Confession time. I've been enjoying Chikfila for probably 30 years. I only discovered Chikfila sauce about 4 months ago or so, thanks to my 12 year old daughter. Late to the party, yes, but damn, what a party it is. By far my favorite condiment...

To much less of an extent me too I did not discover the greatness of this sauce until a few years back. It changed my life.

It's just BBQ sauce and Honey Mustard mixed

#sauce

Well yeah...

Chick Fil A sauce has only been around as a Real Thing for about 10 years or so, but before that a chain in Fredericksburg was making it.

Also, dont @ me but honey roasted bbq is better

"Why gobble gobble chumps asks such good questions, I will never know." - TheFifthFuller

Honey roasted BBQ on a fried spicy chicken sandwich is heaven on earth.

Ya'll downvote this, but I'm about to speak the dam truth.

Chick-fil-A sauce is over hyped. Chick-fil-A sauce is an average IPA whereas Polynesian sauce is a complex, well-aged, first-growth Bordeaux. #sauces

This some ignant UVA shit.

I knew that line would sit well.

No.

Not exactly related to Heinz: has anybody found a mayo that is similar to the Red Pepper Mayo at Flip's in Owen's Hall?

I loved putting that on the chicken sandwiches over there. I haven't found anything that is quite the same.

Mayocue is amazing if you use Dukes. Add in a little dijon mustard, lemon juice, and old bay and you find heaven.

Mustchup is my goto for corndogs.

I use that to fry chicken. It's excellent for that.

As a condiment I rotate through these, depending on what I'm eating:

I keep the El yucateco green in my cabinet as my wife will melt if she gets within 5 feet of anything spicy. So I buy everything a mild as possible and add in the El yucateco for heat. Blends well into everything.

Plan for the worst and hope for the best, not the other way around.

Have you tried the XXXtra Hot or the Black? Each is kinda interesting in its own way, but IMO not better than the originals.

I have an aunt who prefers the green, but I like the flavor profile of the red much better.

The Black is the best hot sauce I've ever found. When we moved to NC I couldn't find it until we moved and switched grocery stores. When I found it I bought the remaining stock of 7 bottles.

Next time I go to the store, I'll see if I can find it and give it another shot. I need to remember where I found it here though.

I don't think I have ever seen the black! I only thought there was red and green. I will keep an eye out for it.

Turns out they have seven sauces. I'm gonna look for the Chipotle one and see if it's better than Cholula.

I tried that one when I couldn't find the Cholula for maybe six months.

It was okay.

Not funny. Not funny. And now the baby is upset.

Crystal is the hot sauce that reminds me most of New Orleans, but isn't even the best mass-commercially available cayenne pepper based sauce. That would McIlhennys.

Are you being pretentious instead of saying Tabasco, or is there another McIlhennys sauce?

Amen to Texas Pete. Add to that de boca en boca as a close second. Louisiana on chicken, exclusively.

Gotta ask - this Duke's mayo thing on multiple threads over the last few weeks... of course it's better than Miracle Whip. Anything is better than Miracle Whip. But why is it better than Hellman's? Please enlighten me.

Also, Indians stadium mustard is strangely missing from this thread.

Not funny. Not funny. And now the baby is upset.

For those talking shit about this, at least in regards to the Mayomust sauce, did y'all heathens never eat at Joe's Diner after a hard night at Hokie House/Sharkey's/Rivermill/Big Al's?
