Has anyone else watched season, err excuse me...part 2 of this on Netflix.
If you thought the first season was some weird shit, part 2 is positively bananas and the wife and I really enjoyed the second go round.
The new co-lead is a great addition. Visually its very interesting, and between the cinematography and music its clear they upped the budget for this season. The 4th episode also contains one of the coolest/freakiest scenes I have ever seen in a show. The ending is another one of those "You just have to see it" because it will make zero sense to try and explain it to anyone that hasn't seen the show

Full title. It does stand for something that is revealed in the show, so I won't spoil it if you want to give it a watch.
The first episode seemingly starts like a standard missing person case with some weirdness, but goes fully off the rails in a good way and a way that you really wouldn't have seen before.
This is a great summary. I don't remember exactly when but it takes a hard turn from mystery/drama to straight up twilight zone in a way that makes you think "wait what just happened".
There will be plenty of additional seasons (or parts) if the viewership is there. It's up there with Westworld as far as confusing the hell out of the viewer, you really have to pay attention or watch it multiple times. Great show, however.
They already have the perfect organizational structure for ongoing seasons.
I've heard its viewership is decent enough. It feels a bit like a much darker Quantum Leap or Sliders.
The first season had me on the edge of my seat for nearly the whole thing...but then that last episode...like if at the end of the X-Files it just turned out to be a scooby doo villain in a mask or something.
The second season is much, much better. Why what happened at the end of season 1 is discussed thoroughly though.
I did not see that part 2 ending coming! It will be interesting to see where they take the next season.
The funny thing is they do give the ending away earlier in the season. When Hap is listening to the tape of Scott's NDE after sending him to the house. Scott jumped to the dimension that they end up in at the end.
His Angelic gift was to help plants grow. In season one he whispered to plants at night to help them grow without the sun.
I enjoyed but was confused as all hell with season 1. I tried watching season 2 episode 1 while doing something that required at least partial attention. I quickly realized that season 2 would require complete focus or I'm gonna be lost quick. Such a weird but well written and produced show.

So WOW, I didn't realize until reading some summaries of the ending that we entered real life. Where OA is in Brit Marling and Hap is Jason Issacs.
I wasn't confused about Buck being the Vietnamese Grand Daughter, but I wanted to confirm that in that dimension she was a female, and In Real Life he was Buck aka Ian Alexander the Actor. So her sole got trapped in the wrong dimension. I want to know how Karim figured out so quickly that Buck was also the grand daughter. I just couldn't wrap my head around him just instantly knowing a male was the soul of the female grand daughter.
Also what the hell was up with the other Dimensional Traveler. Why didn't she transfer dimensions? Was it because she wasn't killed as she had the ambulance ready to come revive her quickly. Did she generate energy to do the transfer from getting down with Happ?
Also the reason OA was able to slide to a new dimension in season 1 was because the emotional energy generated by her being shot, and the shooter in general.
I can't answer any of these questions, as I'm currently practicing all the movements. /s
Yes, the dimension they end up in is in effect "our world" where the OA is a TV show and they are actors playing the roles. It could be really interesting for a next season to see how they explore that.
We also learn that their NDEs are actually glimpses not just into another dimension, but some future event in that dimension. When Homer is having his in Season 1, he is in that air duct and its his own arm that reaches up to see if anything is up there. Then the girl comes in and says some guy in a pink jacket is running around and there is a plumbing problem. We saw all of that happen in season 1 from "original" Homer's perspective, for lack of a better term.
In season 2, we see Hap listening to a tape of one of Scott's NDEs. On it, Scott is saying that was looking down and there were lights and cameras everywhere, and he saw the OA, but Hap was calling her "Brin or something" (Brit), but Hap also had an English accent (Jason Isaacs is English). So Scott was describing what we see in the finale several episodes in advance.
I also want to know more about this Tribe that she apparently has to create. I'm guessing it's the OA followers. The Tree speaking to her was trippy man
As far as the tribe goes I took it as her followers that she had trained in the other dimension. Wife and I loved both seasons and knocked the 2nd season out in 2 nights just so we could see how the next episode was going to tie into flow.
I liked both seasons, but 1 was better. I didnt really get the need for the whole octopus thing. That seemed like it was just weird for the sake of being weird. I did like how they handled the aftermath of jesse's death. When you looked at it from the bba's cousin's perspective it really did look like they were a cult, right down to the ritual movements.
Season 1 was much more suspenseful, but I could have done with less interpretive dancing. Season 2 was different, but I think I liked it more.
I think the Octopus thing was put there to setup the conversation with the Tree. It's also very apparent that the OA is a medium of nature in general.
The tree thing is actually based on a real story.
Seems like the Octopus thing was a setup for the Tree conversation. At least we saw where those circular bruises came from. Interesting how the Tree thing was used in Game of Thrones as well.
How about when Karim and Nina/OA first got into Nina's closet and started listening to the first tape? Nina was into some kinky dog stuff!
Apparently there was an interview with Jason Isaacs about whether or not they were going to have another season. Netflix hasn't renewed it yet, but he indicated that the producers have 5 seasons laid out, which makes sense. 5 angels, 5 NDEs, 5 dimensions to explore.
Well I am down for 3 more seasons.
The OA has been Canceled by Netflix. There will not be a 3rd season.
This is a shame. Now I'll just continue to be lost...
Damn. But to be 100% honest I can't really remember season 2.
That's a shame. The way it ended Season 2 leaves me thinking a lot more than season 1 did.
I love high concept shows, but I hate them for this very reason...they never last long enough to tell their complete story.

Show was decent for me but I could have done with a lot less of that junk in Season 1 and just wasn't invested enough to really focus on Season 2, which probably ruined my enjoyment of it.
Mindhunter on the other hand, now that's a new season I'm excited about.
This sucks because like most people I have no clue what the fuck was going on and I need some closure dammit
