Kyshoen Jarrett Hired as Defensive QC Coach by Redskins.

Great to see him getting a shot in the NFL as a coach.

He is wearing a camo hoodie in the picture!

Vroom Vroom

But what are his qualifications? No P5 experience. Has never coached before. Terrible hire.

There is no way he's going to be able to recruit there.

"When I was growing up, Virginia Tech was a school that was kicking ass and taking names, and it's time we get back to that" - James Franklin

Speaking with another VT DB who was looking to coach, he cited not having to recruit as a huge factor in wanting a pro job over a college job.

Might want to specify who hired him in the title. I thought he was coming back to VT.

Super stoked for him. He wasn't a super high draft pick so his rookie deal wasn't awesome, despite being a swiss army knife in the back seven/eight for the Redskins. He was regularly starting and was well on his way to getting that second big contract before he had football taken from him by that nerve injury in a meaningless game at the end of a season. I really hope coaching works out for him to the tune of great professional success. I can't imagine having your NFL dream taken away, and having nerve damage do that to your arm. He already had proven what a great guy he was with the way he took care of his disabled brother growing up.

Is that him on the right? Optical illusion or is that a difference in his arms?!?

Yes, and no illusion, atrophy.

A rare correct, intelligent & practical hire by Snyder

Me waiting for Snyder to F it up

Not really that sad. He delivers much amusement......for fans of other teams. ;^)

GO FALCONS!

Seriously, though, I'm thrilled for Kyshoen.

Edit: My autocorrect wanted to call him Kevin. Maybe that's just how he pronounces his name.

GO FALCONS!

Of course, it's never a great idea to go firing off Blanks.

Good for him! I am glad that he has gotten a new opportunity to be successful and still be a part of football.

2 time Longwood grad married to a Hokie.

So they are finally going to pay him for essentially what he was already doing for them for free. Jarrett has been supporting the Redskins staff for experience, along with having access to the facility and docs for several years now but hadn't been made a paid member of the staff.

Huh well, that must be a West Virginia variant of the expression.

was he still getting paid off his player contract at that point? Injury settlement or something?

Either way, interning with an NFL team is a great way to break into coaching.
