To me, Frank Beamer was bigger than wins or losses or regional pride. For me, Frank Beamer was an extension of my father. Frank Beamer played an integral role in my relationship with my dad.

Great read. I am right there with Marty about Frank. My dad passed away when I was 26. I started at VT in 1989, So I had a front seat view to Beamer growing the program to what it is today. Despite the fact I have never met the man, Beamer has an almost father-like position in my life. I have had season tickets for 20 years and my kids have been going to games since they were in the womb. I am proud of my Hokie identity largely because of Frank Beamer.
