My youngest son (and avid Hokie fan) was born in 2004 and has only known the Commonwealth Cup in Blacksburg. Imagine that, your rival has never won during your entire lifetime. Some might argue that isn't much of a rivalry - but it gets under their skin so much I hope it continues for another 20 years.

I know the last 15 years at my office has been a blast. Same guys & girls talkin pre-season hoo smack to me. Exact same dillusional stuff every year; exact same result every November - hoo tears.

I work in Charlottesville and the last few months have been.....difficult. They're so confident this year. A 38-0 bro type of game would be so gratifying.

Nope, it isn't possible. I just don't care to deal in hypotheticals, usually. I have made this particular hypothetical statement before though, so just for you, I'll reprise it here. "If the fate of the entire free world depended on UVA beating VT, I'd still be rooting for VT." Clear enough for ya?
I repeat: Not nobody, not nohow!

We on the same page now, bro. I'll add this, my brother's wife is a 'hoo. My brother is a Hokie. She will not rise to any bait I throw at her and just will not discuss anything 'hoo related. My 'hoo friends, and I do have them and like them for the most part, but they won't rise to it anymore either. They've even quit pulling my dick about their Base-Basket-ball teams, and I couldn't start an argument with them if I tried. they realize I am unredeemable and absolutely incurable in my hatred of and disgust with all things uva sports. I hope they never win another game in any sport any time for the rest of eternity. I am able to deal with my 'hoo friends because I know they're decent folks, and I know the college is well respected for a reason, but don't 'hoo@me or I'll get all dandered up.

I was wondering where I'd post this, but luckily this thread showed up.
While I was out driving this weekend in the ridiculous heat, I ended up driving behind an SUV that had the VT/Hokies license plate with the Hokie Bird on it that read: 15STR8. This is in Charlottesville. I had a good laugh and gave the driver a thumbs up when I passed. Made my weekend.

It was a silver newer model of some kind. It had the sleek curves, but I wasn't paying attention to make/model. Just laughing my ass off once I realized what the license plate said.

It really is hard for me to get to worked about this, even when I was in school we got more hyped for WVU then we did the hoos as they felt much more like a rival. Would much prefer to renew that rivalry and drop the hoos, monarchs and whatever liberty is for the end of time much like we did ecu...

I feel VERY offended he made ZERO mention of the '83 & '11 games.
Leg to you for a great Friday afternoon post!

BUT THE HOKIES HAVE NEVER PLAYED A GOOD UVA TEAM PAWL.
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
That's the abridged version for the last 15 years
That anagrams to "WWWWWWWWWWWWWWW"
Skipping the 2011 season and highlighting the 03 game with "Vah Tech" smh. Otherwise learned some things
Seems to be from more of a loluva view. Highlighting their last two wins and all.
Hunter Carpenter might be the only person to have ever hated uva more than I do. I've found a new personal hero.
Don't count me out, special. I've lived this rivalry from the beginning and nobody hates them more than I do. Not nobody, not nohow.
So as a test, would you rather win a Natty having lost only 1 game to uva or continue the streak??
Streak
I would disagree.... I don't think anything trumps winning a Natty. Unless we're talking about a Natty (beer), then it's def not worth it.
Well, since that's a choice I will never have to worry about having, I'm not going to bother to think about it now and harsh my hate buzz.
Then it would (possibly) appear that there are others who's hatred of them rivals (& potentially exceeds) your own.

You actually are Hunter Carpenter, aren't you?

What kind of SUV was it? I want to be on the lookout for it!

If I see it, I'm getting a pic.
They must spend a lot of money updating their plates every November...
We have lost once to UVA since they beat us in 1998. We have lost once to them in the lifetime of our current players- Once. There is no rivalry!
