I believe i read that this was self imposed as well...the ol'UNC style get ahead of anything so the NCAA doesn't have to make a decision trick...

So is it worth the natty to hire Urban, knowing he will dip out just ahead of the sanctions and the institution will have to deal with a few years of reduced scholarships?
Yes. No one will remember reduced scholarships 10 years from now but the banner will still hang.
Oh yes, and at this point if you aren't bending the rules you are competing with one hand tied behind your back.

Y'all need to relax and actually read what the violations were. If anything the vast majority of these just show how stupid the NCAA and some of these recruiting rules are. Some of the violations were sending "happy father's day" texts, retweeting certain things. The single scholarship reduction thing is due to some seemingly bad math handling of a scholarship where they ended up like one half scholarship over their limit or something.

There is zero question that it pays to cheat in college sports. No question. Auburn paid 250K for a national title. I would highly encourage VT to do the same. UNC stood up a fraud basketball program and got virtually no penalty. USC paid Reggie Bush to play, and won a natty. VT should have paid Tua and Clellin Ferrell. Why not?
Who is to say we didn't try to pay Tua and Clellin but our boosters didn't have enough to beat the offer. Reminder to donate to the bagmen.
I like the one where someone received preferential treatment and the punishment was that tOSU would develop a plan to track preferential treatment. HAAHAHAHAHA
These three sections of the Community Guidelines come to mind after reading this thread. This topic is fair for discussion, but the way it was presented is not. This happened yesterday and there are multiple outlets with detailed summaries of what happened. It reads as a rant and provides no detail or valuable discussion.
