Neat story about the lady who currently owns the place and her connection to Korean VT students

IIRC, the last time I read a story about Journell, he had closed a restaurant. Interesting find. I hope he's successful.
I have known the Brodkin family for many years and am good friends with Chad's wife, Claudia. Wonderful people and Chad is an excellent chef. I wish them much success and will certainly go and eat there as often as I can!
Claudia is one of the nicest people I have ever met and have had the pleasure of knowing. She runs the undergraduate organic chemistry stockroom and all the chem grad students who TA that lab course know and love her.
Co-sign. Truly one of the nicest people ever.
Hopefully he doesn't put pepper spray in his food- that time at BWW was enough for me.
All the pepper shakers on the tables should be shaped like pepper spray.
Let me guess, delivering pizzas?
Is that an issue?
Surprised he did not name it "Up in Smoke".
Good story about the woman who is giving him a chance. I love Korean food and was fortunate to grow up very close to a Korean family who would always feed me traditional dishes. Reading her story makes me think of them.
Not sure how a Korean bbq place or even ramen place has not come in to the area yet. Americans love pork and so do Koreans!
Cody's Smokehouse
I just took a look at the menu. I must say it looks pretty damn good😍
I hear it's a chef they picked up from mountain lake. I was told when the soft opening was going to be, but have since forgotten. I seem to remember it being soonish.
Yeah my cousin said it was gonna be in a couple of weeks
Its not too expensive ether
Chad brodkin can COOK
Damn really sad that Kal-Bee is closed that place was fantastic
So they are open now. And I went today and its pretty damn good. The pulled pork is really good not to fatty and the Kickin Bourbon bbq sauce was the best sauce outta of the 4 in my opinion. Their French fries were some of the best fries I ever had at a restaurant. And the Mac and Cheese is decent I just prefer a more thicker Mac and Cheese
I've been told similar things. The pulled pork was specifically mentioned. And it sounds like they have an enormous meats platter, if you're so inclined.
Heck yeah they do
Can you send any to the Williston Basin?
I miss the many great barbecue options, of
Virginia
I hope the food is as good as people are saying, and that he does well with it.
Restaurant Special: Pepper Spray buffalo chicken, where he comes and sprays pepper spray right at your table.
I'm sure you're trying to be cute, but I'll never understand why people will try to knock people down who are trying to be productive members of society after past transgressions.
Because people tell jokes occasionally as a form of socialization. If he wished the restaurant burst into flames or something that would be knocking them down.
