Considering the timing of Bud's announcement, he either got lucky and had already settled on the theme of fighting the perception of a dying program and was able to incorporate Bud at the beginning and end, or he pulled this off in about a week, which would be incredible. Either way, being reminded of the plays our young guys made last year and knowing almost all of the highlights will be back on the field this year got me excited for Aug 31.

Or there's a third possibility: That he knew about the Bud Foster news before it became public knowledge. I have a buddy at work who's been telling me since last offseason that this would be Bud's last year on the sidelines and that he'd transition into a job in the athletic department. He was not speculating, but claiming it as a fact, from solid, but unnamed sources. It's possible that Tim had heard the same news and has been planning this with the hope that his source was correct.
