I feel like the last time Bud Light tried this, most schools including VT, weren't pleased and the cans got removed from stores. Either way, I'll be tailgating with these this year!

Unfortunately there is Bud Light inside the cans
Bud light? Describes our team next year!
...too soon?
Yes, too soon.
For anyone else to have thought of it first.
Take your leg.
Edit: sorry.
I gotta get a couple of these for the man cave. Not gonna be easy due to location though.
You should move your man cave to a room where it's easier to fit a couple of beer cans.
I'm disappointed you weren't able to respond with a Star Wars gif

EDIT - but I gave you a leg for your wit regardless
Double EDIT - I should really look at the date before I respond to a post.
most schools including VT, weren't pleased
VT doesn't like something Greek life will enjoy? Shocking....
lol found the frat boi
Bold strategy for VT to attempt to stamp out Greek life by frowning upon special edition beer cans.
Took you long enough...
Edit: I suppose my op should have said something more along the lines of... "shocking, VT denounces something fun that a wide range of students enjoy, including beer, the Stick it In Chant, throwing footballs and playing music at tailgates, and yes, Greek Life.
Well VT has to be upset about some one using their name to sell spoiled horse piss no matter who likes it.
Now if they were upset at Buffalo trace slapping VT on some Blantons well then there is cause for concern because blantons is classy AF.
But what if the horse piss was harvested from a horse on a treadmill?
If I remember correctly, nowhere on the can does it say anything about Virginia Tech, only uses orange and maroon.
Looks like it's on the cardboard packaging and absent on the cans.
Ok, I'll be the old fogey who asks....
What is a "Blanton"? I've never heard of that before.
https://www.blantonsbourbon.com/
And it is outstanding.
10-years ago:
I watched my last season as an undergrad, and I fondly remember the fan cans from '09 (as displayed in my avatar).
This is a good omen for 2019.
This is the kind of positivity we need, and the math checks out. Leg.
I love these. I always try to take a case or two home with me when I visit in the fall.
This hasn't been available for a long time... So do you just buy some bud light and then take it home and open it like a kid on Christmas morning and get disappointed when they are just regular bud light cans?
I generally buy beer blindfolded and hope that it is the brand I was wanting. This makes it even harder to find these cans as not only do I have to buy beer in a year when they are available, I also have to luck up and buy the correct brand. But man, did they taste and look sweet when it all came together that one time.
The new marketing campaign that tries to imply Bud Light follows Reinheitsgebot is hilarious to me. Rice? Really? You're not even going to try to hide it?
Not necessarily trying to do that. They were trying to belittle Coors and Miller Lite in an ad campaign. The other two use corn syrup. In the world of bubbly piss water, it really doesn't matter. They're all just using something for fermentable sugars.
I remember the ad campaign and how they were belittling the use of corn syrup. It really came across as condescending, which was the point. But I felt like they were trying to say their bubbly piss water was on the level of craft beers made using only 4 ingredients.
Which is funny since they wanted to make craft beer drinkers seem the pretentious snobs in their previous campaigns.
Craft beers??
Get those things outta here before I have to have the Bud Knight escort you to the pit of misery.
I hate to tell you, but you're gonna be in the minority here, dawg.
I gotta say though, personally, I don't get offended by jabs from craft beer drinkers or those like yourself who enjoy beer from the big 3. I just like beer. You'll find me drinking anything from a dank, hoppy IPA to a Scotch Ale, to Bud Heavy, Yuengling, or Killians, or Pacifico. Just don't give me anything with Light at the end of the name. I don't have time for that.
I like all beers as well, but when I'm day drinking in excess I'm light beer all the way. If I'm tailgaiting or grilling with no plans to remain sober I want a beer in my hand as long as I'm awake. I can drink twice as many Bud or Busch lights as I can a high gravity beer and stay somewhat coherent, plus I don't feel like I've eaten a Thanksgiving turkey. I think light cheap horse piss beer definitely has a place and I don't turn my nose up to it or what anyone else drinks. We are all part of a cohesive group of alcoholic superhero's and I refuse to break up the band due to taste or ABV.
I'm in the all beers are good beers camp too. For the all day events I like to kick it off with a nice craft beer or two then jump right in to the busch lattes. Halfway through the day I'm hardly tasting what I'm drinking anyways
Not really a jab, just saw an opportunity for a joke. Personally, I don't like dark beers and I see the craft beer trend as more of a millennial thing, like the excessive wine drinking. That being said I have a friend that owns and operates a successful brewery.
So, to each their own.
If excessive wine drinking is a millennial thing, someone forgot to inform my 68 year old great aunt.
I'll drink a few hundred of those this season.
I prefer the old design, but I'll gladly take these cans if it means I don't have to hear "dilly dilly!" anymore.
Dilly, dilly!
But the design of the cans doesn't imply that the commercials will go away.
Sadly, it does not. But that's a trade I'd willingly make. The cans could be made of recycled plastic and I'd still make that trade.
One of the rare things in america that is the "most popular" yet worst- or close to it - tasting. Sutter Hill wine is more "popular" than Brunello for the same reason. I'd rather drink water. cool can though
Anyone know when these hit the shelves? I know of a certain TKPer named after a succesful franchise of 80s/90s comedy films featuring Jim Varney that would love these at his upcoming wedding.
Fuck Bud Light. Go with Beltway Brewing Co.
I can't argue with you! I'd love to get some Stick It In beer, but I think the special edition Bud Light will be much easier to find.
This.
Anybody found this anywhere in/near central NC?
I think it's only available in Northern VA and the first batch sold out very quickly.
That's basically what I was afraid of.
Thanks.
How about a TKP partnership with Devil's Backbone? We already own their backyard in football.
Edit: - I propose a session IPA called "38-0bräu" with (in bold O&M font) "Featuring more beers than UVA had at their Spring game!!!" on every single, 6, 12, and 24 pack.
They are owned by InBev. Doubt they care about small batch one-off brews. Ever.
I would buy a LOT of Vienna Lager with VT/TKP branding!
Chaos Mtn. seems a likely suitor. Since a TKPer brews their beer.
This is where I am glad we have unique school colors. I can barely tell the difference between the Bama can and the TAMU can. Either would work for probably a dozen other schools. San Diego state is loving those TTECH cans, and the whole city of Shittsburg is going to be looking for those Iowa cans. The O&M cans, there is only one place that those are for.
Blacksburg and Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. Home to the Susquehanna Riverhawks.
Are they using our old jerseys with their logo?
Virginia Tech: We need a new jersey design.
Nike: Feeling lazy. Here's some stuff with stripes.
Susquehanna Riverhawks: We need a new jersey design.
Nike: Who?
Susquehanna Riverhawks: Susquehanna Riverhawks.
Nike: Is that a bird? Screw it. Just give them some Hokie jerseys.
They sure do look sharp, though.
Ever wanted to know what VT would have looked like with the circa 2004 WVU template? Wonder no more
How about a nice mashup of the 1995 Hokies and Syracuse?
Maybe if we took those same stripes and put them on the shoulders...
beat me to it. my accounting prof was an alum of that university and his advisor told him to continue his accounting PhD at VT because of its academic reputation (i believe he was a VT alum, too). that's two alma maters with identical color schemes!
Don't forget Murvuhl College.
Dear lord, it's like they took the 2005 Miami game jerseys as inspiration
Ugh, flashbacks
When we lived in Hershey PA, we used to go up to Selins Grove to hit a few breweries up that way. I wore a VT shirt and walked into Selins Grove Brewing Company, and the bartender asked 'Oh are you back in town for Homecoming?' I was confused... because at the time, I had no idea what he was talking about. Then he saw the "VT" on my shirt and said - "woops, wrong school"
It was then that i realized that we were not alone in the Orange and Maroon Universe.
I thought we were until we moved to Knoxville and took a Sunday drive through Murvuhl on our way to the Townsend entrance of the Smokies. It's a weird feeling when you realize we aren't the only ones. On one hand, its sort of cool that another school has an O&M scheme. On the other hand, you realize VT's O&M isn't as unique as you thought. Murvuhl's mascot is the Scot and my surname is Scottish. So, if any school has my blessing to use O&M, it's Murvuhl.
*Yes, that's the correct spelling. It might as well be anyway.
I'll drink some O&M BL all day. But what would really be something, would be some O&M Busch.
I'd prefer some O&M Sam Adams.
The only on-brand alternative is O&M Foster's.
Fosters Oil Cans got us into one heck of a tailgate with Joe Klecko one year at Temple.
#SeasonOfBud
Any luck finding these in the NOVA area?
I can't comment on NOVA, but I've seen them all over Roanoke.
Gucci Kroger has Stick It In beer. I was there at 1:30 pm today.

Looks like folks are buying some. A pic I saw of this earlier had the stack much higher.
"Bud Light" is a pretty good description of our defense this year.
Yeah, and I can't say "light" is a very good formulation of that brand.
Anything lighter than full, unadulterated Bud doesn't seem to get the job done.
