What has helped Clemson the most is that QB play has been consistent. That's something that didn't help VT after Vick, you didn't have that next guy ready to step up, and therefore that step up for VT to remain at that national championship level didn't occur.

Marcus had the talent to do it, especially with the '06 Defense. Tyrod was a model student athlete and leader. I will forever think about what could have been if Marcus had just the 1/4 of the head on his shoulders that Tyrod has. Or, if the '06 defense and the '10 offense could have aligned better. We were on the cusp from '99 to 2010.

I still maintain we were good enough to beat Clemson without Tyrod that year. Had the QB, had the receivers, the back, the defense. Only thing missing was a TRUE OC.

When we start ranking in the top 15 of recruiting consistently and stop losing games we should be winning, maybe I can start believing in this line of thinking.

It starts by having a dedicated push to always strive to be greater on the recruiting path. They went all in on recruiting from the start by hiring a position coach as head coach because he was an elite recruiter, and it took a little while to pay off. But once it paid off, that's when the second part pushed them over the top.... Surround yourself with excellent assistant coaches, even if that means yourself taking a lot less money to do it. Dabo might not have been the best X's and O's head coach, but he knew how to bring in elite recruits. He understood his own weakness and brought in the best Offensive and Defensive Coordinators that money could buy and... well, you know the rest.

The football players live and practice in an amusement park that is restricted to football only don't they? That new building that has laser tag, and a slide, etc.

Clemson doesn't have as many Olympic sports as us if I remember correctly. They have club teams for students who still want to rep their school playing a sport that they love, but they aren't funded by Clemson's athletic department. This might be an unpopular opinion, but we should consider doing the same.
There should also be alcohol sold at games for the love of everything that is holy.

If Tyrod had a redshirt year, we're good enough to beat Clemson in 2011.

I have this Supreme New testament at home right now.
Aint no money in it tho!
Sure, Dabo struggled for a year or two...but the guy almost consistently brought in talent, even early on.

How great would it be if they started doing a $1 beer night promo like the soccer team Phoenix Rising? Here's the link to the ESPN article:
