To be honest, I noticed this with a number of players in post game interviews. Willis sounded like he had just cried buckets. I mean, he's not the answer but he's also not Grant Noel. Felt like he was hung out to dry. (All things considered, he's in the Brewer tier but without the "it factor" of Brewer).
To make matters worse, Foster sounded like he was fighting them back the whole interview.

I'm so over the 'Fuente doesn't show enough emotion' bullshit. Do people want him to throw a tantrum after every loss? He had a bad day at the office, I want him to get through it, and start focusing on the next day.
Yeah & most of us wanted him focused when he actually started coaching here.
I don't care what he does on the sidelines, as long as he wins the right way. Same went for Beamer.

Yeah, I don't really buy the new "changed Fuente." A guy can change little things, but at the end of the day, he is who he is. It worked for him at Memphis, so it's not like it doesn't work. He just has to find a way to make it work here.
As far as players crying, I wouldn't read too much into that as far as Fuente goes. This whole offseason was "NBA," and "this year is gonna be different," and "we're doing it for Bud." Then, they lose the first game. All those emotions invested into this one game to prove themselves, and they lost. That had to sting. I'm glad they care that much. I'd rather Willis not throw 3 INTs and be laughing after the game instead of what we saw yesterday, but it didn't seem like there was a lot of emotion when we were getting steamrolled last season.
Winning at G5 level is about finding diamonds in the rough and developing those players. Winning at the P5 level requires getting elite talent in the door
Legends CFB and CBF really couldn't do it. Averaged less than one 5* a year. Still won games without elite talent. It took a long time for them to win consistently.
Aside from defensive line, I feel good about our talent. I thought we were clearly the more talented team yesterday. If Willis doesn't do his best Grant Noel impression, we win that game by a couple touchdowns.
I was gonna say Sean Glennon, but that works too.
I give Glennon the benefit of the doubt considering he was running for his life on nearly every play. Noel actually had a decent offensive line but had no mobility, rushed throws even when he had a clean pocket, and made weird, costly decisions.
I don't attribute that as much to the line as to his lack of arm strength and decision making. The phrase "Mr. Interceptions" (@ Tech) was created due to his performance in the Chic-fil-a bowl, not by Grant Noel.
You really need to rewatch some games. I have absolutely no love for Glennon as a player and even more so as a person, but he doesn't deserve the level of disdain he gets as a QB. Our line was atrocious when he was here. One of the main reasons Tyrod did so much better with the same line was he had the wheels to get him out of trouble.
The why didn't Glennon try to imitate Brady & (Aaron) Rogers and get rid of the ball quicker (even if it's OOB or incomplete)?? Better that than consistent INTs. Btw, I acknowledged (especially in the past) the subpar protection of the line & ineptness of the OC & O line coach. But I have to believe, even in that type of situation (hypothetically speaking), Brady & A. Rogers would have done a decent job of getting rid of the ball quicker.
Brady and Rodgers would have gotten killed behind the O Line during the Glennon years. There were a lot of times, when Sean was getting hit about a second after the ball was snapped. He couldn't even get to a 3 step drop, let alone 5 or 7.
Are you seriously wondering why Glennon didn't just be more like Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers?
Those were the 1st 2 QBs that came to mind that have a quick release. If you can come up with some others with a quick release (that are more comparable to Sean), by all means, please.

I'm not saying he would have been a great QB. All I am saying is the guy was set up for failure.
And I ain't saying he needs to be great. But he did need to get the dang ball out of his hands faster. Be it: hand off, completion, outta bounds &/or incomplete (but no INTs).
The name "Mr. Interceptions" was attributed to Glennon by the casual fan who doesn't understand that, unless you have Tyrod speed, you were going to get destroyed behind that travesty of an offensive line. Glennon won 10 games in 2006 and 11 in 2007 (albeit sharing time with Tyrod) plus the ACCCG MVP. I don't give 2008 to Glennon despite him being the starter for our win against Maryland.
Grant Noel had no redeeming qualities or accomplishments in my opinion. Nicer guy than Glennon, by all accounts, yes. Better player or even equal, no way.
Two things: a) he was awarded it by the ACCCG committee. Whether or not he deserved is completely different (IMOP, there were other players on that team that were equally, if not MORE deserving). Which gets into my next point b) he doesn't even sniff 10+ Ws or any accolades he was given over '06-'07 without the main component: the TEAM (more specifically, a Bud Foster SUPERIOR defense). He was surrounded by great receivers, a workhorse tailback (Ore), & above average TEs. The teams that Sean was a part of in '06-'08 were significantly more talented than the the teams that Noel took the field with (as a starter).
You could come up with multiple players who could win the MVP every game. Bottom line is, Glennon was one of them in one of the biggest games of his career. That's my point. He was fortunate enough to have great receivers in 2007, but Ore wasn't necessarily the all conference back that year that we saw in 2006. I think that if that Chick Fil A bowl game doesn't happen, Sean Glennon is spoiled of much differently.

Me neither, but I'll say this about this crying thing. I am not ashamed when I get emotional, and if a tear falls, well that's natural, I say. My first time back on campus since the shootings, though I lived only 22 miles away, I couldn't help but shed tears when I went to the monument. My next door neighbor was an Army Captain in Vietnam, saw action and lost troops. He cries at Walmart openings. If you care enough to cry, let it rain, man. It's your business and a sure sign of humanity.
