That doesn't sound great. What did he injure because that makes a big difference? If he had a stitcher surgery for his ankle there's a chance he'll be back later in the season, if it was a knee I would be much less confident.

He could come back and play in 3 games towards the end of the season and still redshirt. Assuming he misses at least 4 games, I feel like that's the only sensible choice.

I guess Kaleb Steward is a miss at this point. Too bad. He had pretty good HS tape. I was kinda of concerned he didn't even appear in the 4 free games last year.

Do we know the nature of the injury yet? Seems like high-ankle sprains have been quicker to heal through surgery...could be something like keeping him out 5-6 weeks.

At this point, if it's close (i.e. he misses 4+ games I would redshirt the kid. He should have been redshirted his freshmen year to begin with. At least this would give him a full offseason to be healthy and two more seasons

No sauces but my neighbor said he heard through the grapevine that it's serious enough that he's done for the year. He said it was "emergency surgery". But take that with a grain of salt until somebody with verifiable info posts.
