For the first time since playing Duke on Oct 28, 2017 the Hokies are wearing orange helmets in football. Which is odd, because the school went out of it's way to say they were mothballed with the redesign last year.

I am surprised too. When I won one at the yearly auction - when picking it up I was told we wouldn't be wearing them "for a long time."
I'm glad they are back. But I wish we would wear them under the lights instead of during the day. They pop at night.

As a self-proclaimed uniform snob that has chosen to die on the hill of #TeamNoOrange, I'm at the point where I'm happy with any color combination as long as we can score points and keep the other team from scoring as much as us.

Generally #teamnoorange here as well and this is about as much as I'm willing to do. Though I'll admit the one off orange jerseys we wore against UNC two years ago were nice.
Loved those unis, so much more than what we have now. They'd look great in maroon too.

At least the team is wearing some orange. When Orange Effect started, we didn't have any orange uniform parts.

I don't care about uniforms. I care about victories.
I'm teamnoorange, however this is the only orange piece of equipment I like. And using it as really an accent to the MM is pretty nice imo.
'Orange Effect' should be what happens when the minimalistic orange piping highlights the bad-assary of the maroon helmets and uniforms.
Not 'we look like pumpkin-heads and it's too early for Halloween, so this is confusing' look.
