OT: Week 6 Other Games

Discuss non-Hokie games here.

How bout UCF shooting themselves in the foot early: settling for two FG in the red zone and coughing up two first quarter turnovers.

Make that three drives fizzling in the red zone. Beating cinci up and down the field on paper but not converting when it matters.

Shit. I went upstairs to watch some football... Started fucking around with my laptop (fucking battery died - great) ... An hour later and only just remembered that I came up here up watch football.

Cincinnati UCF first half was pretty good; hopefully the second half is, too.

Yeah. I'm tuned in for this.

How about Mike Liut's son playing for the Bearcats...there's a name I haven't heard in at least 25 years...old school capitals fans rejoice!

Can't say I've heard Cam Goode's name...is he active for UCF?

According to the Ourlads depth chart (updated yesterday), he's listed as the starter.

edit: I haven't been watching for him (he's #54), but haven't seen him. He's Registered stats In each game this year, but backup numbers.

I've been watching for him too but he's been invisible in the second half...just needed a sanity check as I've not seen 54 out there at all...not sure why I'm even interested in him to begin with...I have issues

Cincinnatti is making a statement on G5 Bama right now.

UCF playing Fuenteball in the second half

No joke. INTs in the red zone, inability to stick it in and taking the 3 instead, and putting up a TD after the game is out of reach to make the game seem closer than it was. This was BC all over again.

The game is out of reach at 24-27 with 3:11 left? If they scored as the clock expired I'd see what you're saying but the game is 60 minutes and as long as there's a chance to win I don't believe a coach is thinking "thank god the box score won't look as bad tomorrow."

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

Down two scores in the 4th, scoring a TD with under 4 min remaining and praying you can get the ball back. Exactly what happened in our BC game.

Bingo...that's exactly what this game reminded me of and a few last year as well

I'm jealous of Cincinnati's interior run game right now.

"For those who have passed, for those to come, reach for excellence."

Agreed. I'm intrigued by this defense as well

Yet they lost to Ohio state by 40+ so is OSU THAT good? Seems like it coz the Bearcats look stout tonight

I believe OSU is that good. It'll be interesting to see their offense vs Michigan State tomorrow

Hot take: Cincy DC (Marcus Freeman) for VT HC next year...he's young and a high energy guy

I would be elated.

Ideal scenario would be Luke Fickell as HC and Freeman as DC.

Let a guy dream.

I'd be okay with this. Freeman's guys were playing downhill all night.

People will probably hate him once I mention this, but he has a connection to our staff actually. He was LB coach at Purdue from 2013-2016 and Jafar Williams was RB coach at Purdue from 2013-2015.

Honestly I think there's a pretty high chance he'd be considered for the job.

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

What happened to Purdue from last year?

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

I feel like Purdue is on a cycle like Wake. Every four years or so they are respectable. Every 8 years or so they are giant killers, but they have to have the perfect storm of senior players and coaching to do it and they don't reload well.

Don't look now but Wake might have broken their cycle, or at least may have raised their floor a bit, as they're currently 5-0 and ranked #22 and poised for their 4th straight bowl appearance.

QB graduated, starting QB this year broke his collarbone, best defensive player is out for the year, and RonDale Moore is currently hurt.

Ugh... of course we're the last top ten team Kansas has beaten.

Not sure history will ever let us forget that game

The key play is officially a thing...the Oklahoma fans were doing it on 3rd down and here in Arizona they do it on 4th down even though their special teams are crap. Hokies are pioneers, as usual (unless we stole it from someone else-but we did it when I was freshman on 1990)

When I watch Louisville, I like the passion the team plays with. They are a fired up bunch of kids!

Is coronavirus over yet?

Oklahoma has a 3rd and goal from the 50 yard line...that's a first for me

Better than La-Tech's 3rd and Goal from their own 7 yard line last year.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

Iowa REALLY doesnt want to win this game...5 stalled drives inside Michigan's 30

Poor Mich St. defense, they are shutting OSU down, but their offense is giving the ball back as soon as they get it.

Happy for those 1000 Duke fans who turned out to see this comeback.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

Too bad for those 1000 Duke fans who turned out to see them come up just short.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

They're Duke fans, they're used to it.

A decade on TKP and it's been time well spent.

lol@ Narduzzi saying Ffrench was pushed out on that illegal touching call when there wasn't a defender within two yards of him.

The Orange and Maroon you see, that's fighting on to victory.

My god Narduzzi is an embarrassment. He is the perfect example of how I never want to see our coach act on the sideline. I'd take a gargoyle instead.

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

Targeting calls really ruining the game, the new system of call any contact around the shoulders or higher then kick it upstairs for a 3 to 5 minute decision can really drag out a game, plus I disagree with a lot of the final calls. The one on the Pitt player tonight was abysmal, the guy is trying to stop a player who is just short of the line of gain, stops him with his arms and shoulders to the players shoulder, you watch it and think what else do they want him to do.......

The LewDew, Professional Golf Bum

Unpopular opinion but the coastal is a GOOD league. I'll take Duke Pitt UNC UVA over most other teams in the country and some top 25 teams. Think about who they've all played. All are tough and battle tested. Even Miami has played a tough schedule so far and lost close ones. I think/hope by the end of the year and bowl season this league will start to get the respect it deserves

By the time the season is over, I feel extremely confident we won't have played the worst P5 schedule. Not that I expect people to stop touting a narrative derived completely from largely irrelevant preseason rankings.

Joffrey, Cersei, Ilyn Payne, the Hound, Jeff Jagodzinski, Paul Johnson, Pat Narduzzi.

Anybody watch the 3 OT SMU/Tulsa finish? The kickers were awful and half of the OT possessions resulted in no points.

Using /s is for cowards.
