With one start under his belt, Hooker has started his ascent to the top and garnered rave reviews from the people at PFF. He comes in over a good chunk of our ACC QBs (including LOLUVA "superstar" Bryce Perkins). Let's hope it can continue.
Note: PFF is also aware of our Jekyll and Hyde playcalling
Hooker took over for Ryan Willis in the Hokies win over Miami as he was dominant in the first half before the gameplan seemingly changed.

Josh Jackson at 112? Yikes, poor guy...
After I saw that Maryland wasn't, in fact, going to set the cfb world on fire, I have been hoping he gets it right. As long as Maryland isn't going to become a power with our former QB I want him to have success.
We don't wish our former players the "best". We wish them the good.
Is it fair to wish them 2nd best (right behind us)?
I mea, according to childhood folklore "1st is the worst, 2nd is the best..."
I would say it's more than fair.
On the other hand ...
Does he have a southwest virginia accent yet or is it still mostly greensboro? /s
accent vs. ascent
Good looks! I fixed it. That swipe keyboard will get after ya.
After car shopping for a few months, when I see the word: Ascent
Dad Goals...
Sam Howell is going to be a problem for us for the next 3-4 years.
UNC is kinda like BC in that they win 1-2 games that really matter each season but finish 7-5
UNC is kinda not like BC in that they already have made a huge turnaround, are much more talented, have a much better location, have more money to spend on athletics, and have national brand recognition. No reason to think they won't continue to grow in talent either if they keep recruiting at the level they are at now. They are a real threat, especially in this division.
Ok all of the above is true except both programs will in fact still finish 7-5 so the point stands
Boston>Chapel Hill
exactly, years of feasting on shitty coastal teams made this program complacent for an entire decade, we don't deserve to have this mindset anymore and we can't afford to have it either. we are in the thick of it with 6 other teams.
Sam Howell at 32
Ian Book at 25
And Jamie Newman at 7
That Wake game is going to be really tough.
I watched Wake's first game of the year...it was a really fun game to watch. Newman was incredible in that game, and I said after watching it, that Wake will have a chance to be the 2nd best team in the ACC if they can play some defense. Newman is really good and a lot of fun to watch.

UVA is losing their shit right now over this! They think Perkins is a legit Heisman contender. LOLUVA
I haven't heard any LOLUVA fans think they have a Heisman candidate...
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.streakingthelawn.com/platform/amp/2019/...
No. Next question.
That was written in June... Remember when people thought LT3 would be a Heisman candidate pre-season?
side note: I find it funny the website is called "Streak The Lawn" when the only streak they have is an Oh Fer Sixteen coming their way.
Clearly you've never been a high schooler in charlottesville in the spring when all the co-eds are trying to check that particular box before they graduate...
I mean, I know what streaking the lawn is... but that doesn't play into the joke...
I streaked the drill field once. Oh and slusher beach. The beach was the more exciting of the two, probably because there had been a fire alarm right before the streaking.
The older brother of one of my friends lived on the lawn. He and his roommates would hang out on the balcony of the pavilion with one of those million candle power flashlights and spotlight streakers. One Friday night we were over there hanging out and got to partake. Very exciting for a HS junior...
You are seriously going to make me visit "the Sabre"? 😂
Posted 9/25 on the Sabre: comparing Perkins to espn's list of Heisman favorite QB's

I love that the commenter thinks rushing stats are factored into QB Rating.
All 13 of them?
UVA fans also think they had a shot at the playoff before the ND game.
Yeah I wouldn't rank HH that high after one game. Let's see how he / we do over the next few. But glad others see the same potential in him that Fuente first saw too.
I think people put way too much stock in PFF's numbers and rankings.
I mean Perkins isn't a bad quarterback right? Without him I don't know that lolVA has much of an offense. With him they win games.
correct, he is not a bad quarterback. They would be abysmal without him. However, they have been at such a low for so long that even a glimmer of a decent QB makes them start having pipe dreams about football greatness. I want to beat them now more than ever.
Also, for your viewing pleasure, the 2nd half of the ND game:

I know ND is a solid squad which forced a terrible 2nd half from UVA, but I really hope we can jump on UVA early as well as corral and pressure Perkins.
He seems to make a lot of mistakes in pressure situations as well as when playing from behind.
That is brutal...
I loved it
