JIA has landed in Chicago. It's spitting snow and windier than snot. I'm heading to Lou Malnotti's now to get my deep dish fix. Then picking up some Wild Turkey and Jamison.
I've already seen a huge convoy of HOKIES in the airport and at our hotel, got several Go Hokies and another from the bar tender who's brother graduated from VT.
Was just informed my group of 4 has acquired field passes for pregame. I will tell you this, I'm losing my fucking voice on Saturday.
LETS GO!

HOKIES!
Driving up early tomorrow- staying in a Holiday Inn Express a half hour out. Going running at the Dunes, and try and make it to the sights before game time. I'll be losing my voice right with you.
Driving up in tomorrow morning and doing an Airbnb a mile outside of the stadium!
Can you bring me back some deep dish pizza?
No offense but
Damn😂
Pro-tip. You can order Lou Malnoti's online and they will ship it to you on dry ice. It's awesome.
Many of the Chicago stuffed pizza places will do this. I've had them shipped and gotten a frozen pie to go on the plane as well.
gotta game tomorrow night but I'm flying in Saturday early early morning! coming back to jax Monday night.
Damn. That's hardcore. Yup, field passes for pregame.
While I'm thinking about it...what do you think of the freshman RB Singleton at FIHS? Seems to be putting up some numbers.
Original flight out of DCA to ORD was 6:45. Then 7:15, then 8:20, then 9:20. At this point I left work early to get on a 5:45 flight. Delayed to 6:14 and now 6:47. Praying to get to Chicago tonight.
My group of four is on the Chicago Hokies bus trip as well. Looks like it will be. Good time other than the freezing temps. Not sure if I packed well enough.
If you're flying into Chicago on Halloween and don't go to Wrigleyville you're doing yourself a great diservice
Enjoy. I was there last ND game at South Bend, I think my AirBnB was someone's dorm room overlooking the practice field.
Find better places to eat than I did, I found the local fare to be less than satisfying.
Flying into Chicago tomorrow morning. Can't wait! Go Hokies!
I had a blast in 2016; epecially at the end!
Enjoy!
We weren't too far away from you!
I am probably in your picture and you two are probably in mine.
I'm in your picture. BLack knit hat sitting next to pinkish knit hat.
Flying in to Chicago tomorrow...if I ever get to leave work
We are flying from Charlotte to Chicago Friday morning. I'm surprising my partner with Hamilton tickets for Friday night and then we are taking the Irish Express to South Bend on Saturday morning.
Tickets are Section 18, row 7. Anyone else near by?
Hope you guys have a great time! Go Hokies!
Make sure y'all get a steak sandwich from the knights of Columbus. We didn't and found out later how great they are.
Noted. I'm due a good sandwich this weekend.
Is this set up outside the stadium?
Yes. They have tents.
Heading to a wedding.
Did the same thing Miami weekend. I got you guys.
some people just lack common courtesy, in scheduling weddings during football season; I mean seriously, where are their priorities?!
Lou Malnatis. Check
Joes Steakhouse. Check.
Gino's East. Check.
Giordanis. Dinner tonight.
Lots of Jameson and drafts. Check.
Linebacker Lounge. Corbys. Tailgate. Field pass and locker room tour. Finished up with a HOKIES victory. Fuck yeah!
The bean, sears tower, beers, more beers, even more beers with college friends, pequods tonight. Chicago Hokies Bus, knights of Columbus steak sandwich Hokies v Irish tomorrow. It's a great weekend.
Ran into multiple Hokies here in Chicago with a "Go Hokies" tied to it. We did the architectural boat tour, art museum, the Bean, and a few other small things. Chicago is a fun town. Can't wait to go watch the Hokies go 2 for 2 in South Bend tomorrow
So either QP is starting or we will see ALOT of him today.
Have we heard anything about Hooker's health?
Anyone else have a negative experience with ND fans? We were shocked by the behavior of the fans around us. We were hit, had stuff thrown at us, and they booed our players when they got hurt.
I know were are spoiled with an amazing fan base, but I didn't expect the behavior we saw today.
The group behind us were super drunk aholes but the guys to my left and in front were pleasant.
The ND fans I encountered where the nicest fans I have ever met. Many went out of their way to welcome us or give directions. It was actually more unnerving.
I'm glad you had a positive experience! I really wasn't prepared for the rudeness.
Yeah sorry yours was rough. It makes the experience awful. Bama 2009 is the gold standard for me. I've never seen so many punches thrown and drinks tossed on/at.
I had nothing but overwhelming hospitality everywhere I went. Actually had an usher come over during the national anthem to tell me which way the flyover was coming from.
Hokies
My group lost our voices, gave them Hell, had them on the ropes and had an absolute blast.
Let me say this. Notre Dame is cool but it doesn't compare to Blacksburg and Lane Stadium top to bottom. We shouldn't have little man syndrome, we are a blessed program. GO HOKIES!
Overall, I had a great experience. Very cool place to see a game. Beautiful campus. Had probably 10 or more people just come up to me and say "Welcome to Notre Dame". I was surrounded by Irish fans and they were great. I went into the game accepting the fact that we probably wouldn't win, but after seeing how things played out, ouch! That one will sting for a while.
Notre Dame fans are about as condescending as a fanbase gets. UVA of the midwest
