Frank Beamer is the soul of Virginia Tech, but Bud Foster was/and is the spine of Virginia Tech....hard as nails, smart as shit, but down to earth. I am a fairly young man (29), but I have never seen a day when Bud is not patrolling that sideline. This has been a sad season (for me) because we are losing a man that has always been there for us. For me, it's weird, I hope we can hire a dude that can keep our defense at the level we expect, but I will always think that Bud could have handled the personnel better.
I feel bad for the guy that follows in the wake of Bud, the shoes you have to fill are massive. I am going to be with you though. We all should be with you.

Honestly I am having a harder time with his retirement than I did Beamers. One of a kind.
