So future Mrs. Back2VT booked our honeymoon for December 15th-21st.... Jackson Hole, Wyoming. My question is other than skiing, what is there to do during the month of December out there? Am I lucky enough that there might be some frigid water fly fishing?

If you're skiing hard, and doing married things, how do you have extra time or energy?
It'll go fast.
Trout bite in the winter, but most of the guides in that area of the world suspend fishing and go to work as ski instructors, etc. I guarantee you, though, fishing is available and there are fly shops that will be glad to clue you in as to where.
If you weren't into winter stuff in the great western outdoors, you wouldn't be going to Jackson Hole, right? It is a fantastic place surrounded by even more fantastic places. Enjoy the honeymoon and congratulations!
When we go skiing, I typically am pretty sore after the 3 days (we're first chair to last run types), so check out the Four Seasons or some place nice and just hang out, get some drinks, and hit their spa - especially since JH has plenty of challenging terrain depending on how hard you guys want to push yourselves. It all should be really Christmas-y.
If I were you, I'd also be googling the best apres scenes. Beers and nachos after a day skiing is my perfect vacation. Congrats!
Mangy Moose for apres. You can take a tour of the elk refuge just outside of town. I think you can book online or at the visitor center in town. Drive Elk Refuge Rd on the east side of town for wildlife viewing. Pack some binoculars to spot some of the goats on the bluffs. But mainly just rip around the mountain. If you haven't ridden at JHMR before you will be tired. The place is steep and fun. Definitely take the tram and ride rendezvous bowl and the hobacks if the snow is good. Waffles at the top of the tram shouldn't be passed up. One of my favorite places to ride, I'll be there around New Years.

Assuming your wedding is the weekend before, relax. Depending on you wedding size and involvement it's a lot of work, can be stressful. Just relax and enjoy yourselves. It was nice not having to do anything if we didn't want to.
If you are renting a car, Grand Teton National Park is pretty close.

Thanks everyone. We do love the outdoors, and she hasnt ever seen snow, and remembered from long ago that I had always wanted to go there (I of meant in the summer for fishing, but I didnt specify, so cant blame her there). I just know that my knee will NOT be able to take a whole lot of skiing, so I needed options.
I figure if I can get her to go to the spa or something one day (she knows damn well I wont go) I can sneak onto a river for a couple hours....
Couples massages are things for reasons which are very honeymoon-friendly. If there's a time to make an exception to the "no spa" policy it's now.

I think it works best when she's totally uninterested and stays that way. She might listen to your description of the day, but if you're lucky you won't notice the eye roll. Besides, if she does get into it as much as you are, it's a foregone conclusion she'll end up being a better fisherman than you and you'll end up being a glorified unpaid guide. Teach her to play golf instead, then give it up due to an unspecified skeletal reason, introduce her to some golfing women, and go fishing instead. You'll both probably be happier in the end.
If Frank can get a pedicure, you can go to the spa. Even if massages or people touching you isn't your thing, saunas are awesome. Wet or dry. Who doesn't love a Jacuzzi? I'm telling you, man to man, go to the spa and relaaaax. If anything, the nap afterwards is worth it.
Oh no, I'm SO much more relaxed with a fishing rod in my hand than I would be in a sauna or jacuzzi. No matter how ball shrinking cold it may be.

Snowmobiling - there's a number of trips that go to various spots but I've been on one that goes to a hot springs and then you do some free riding time in a large open space, as well as another one that went into Yellowstone (we were about 15 feet from buffalo on the trail!). Both were lots of fun and an awesome way to check out the beauty of the area!
Yeah, snowmobiling is a blast on a "recovery" day mid-week.
I second this. The Yellowstone tours are awesome, whole new way to see the park, waaaay less people. Granite hot spring just south of Jackson is accessible by snowmobile too. Tons of good fishing there, but I dont know the area, you could always inquire about floating the Green or New fork outta pinedale, only an hour or two away.
I'm pretty sure it was Granite hot springs we went too - also a great trip!

There must be something awesome at that Million Dollar Cowboy bar. It is mentioned damn near everywhere I've looked so far.
Fly fishing guide here... yes you can fly fish in the winter for trout, sometimes very effectively. Jackson Hole is loaded with Fine Spotted Cutthroat Trout and some Brown Trout in the Snake River. If you are going to go fishing DIY (do it yourself), do NOT go wade fishing the Snake. It is exceptionally difficult to impossible river to wade fish or fish from the bank and if you fall into the water in the middle of winter, you could easily die.
If you DIY, go to the Gros Ventre campground, park in the back and walk East or Southeast 100 yards or so to the Gros Ventre River and fish there. The pools may have some ice coverage. It is loaded with trout and much safer. You'll want to nymph fish with stoneflies and midges. Ice in your guides will likely be an issue.
Several fly shops in town and they can give you the best idea of what your options are.
Just want to reiterate how freezing ass cold the snake river is. In July, it's nuts-in-your-stomach levels of cold. I can only imagine you'd not want to be in it in the winter.

Adding to my earlier comment, there are great walking or cross country skiing wildlife tours just outside Jackson too, dont necessarily have to go all the way to Yellowstone.
My best honeymoon advice:
Jacuzzis and bubble bath are romantic separately, but not when combined.
Something tells me you made a big mess. Ironically, with soap.
A bit. I thought I was being all romantic. Had candles all around the tub. Those were quickly extinguished. Luckily, I caught it before the bubbles escaped the tub onto the floor. They did get pretty high up the wall though. Makes for a good story.
Kind of sounds like the guy who was out of dishwasher detergent and decided to use the regular Dawn dish soap instead.....

My mom warned me about this the first time I got an apartment with a dishwasher in college. She didn't want me to repeat the same mistake.

Bring lubrications for your skis
A few things in the "area" that we really enjoyed.
Go see the wild mustangs in the Pryor Mountains. You'll definitely need 4-WD but the drive up the mountains is breathtaking.
Deadwood South Dakota, Crazy Horse memorial and Mt Rushmore.
Yellowstone is nice but Glacier National Park blows its out of the water. 100 times better, not as crowded, better hiking and views.
Honeymoon advice in general...
During the week, something might not go according to plan and you'll have to improvise or settle for something unexpected. Do not sweat this... just live in that moment the best you can; knowing that one day you really will look back on it fondly and laugh.
Trust me. Our Honeymoon chaos is one of my most treasured marriage memories.
Second this. See jacuzzi and bubble bath comment above. Also, we thought we were going to be getting married at the courthouse. Nope, magistrate's office at the detention center. Ya know, jail? Yeah, we got married in jail.
