The media as usual does no research. Ashby 5 time LB of the week, Waller graded higher, Bradburn, Darrisaw all deserved better.
You're goddamned right.
Agreed- who in the ACC is a better MLB than Ashby?? whomever plays for Clemson I guess?
Exactly! - total disrespect. He will be 1st team as a senior
Ashby => Clemson via portal confirmed.
While I agree that Ashby should have made 1st team, Isaiah Simmons is really really good. Quarterman is the one to question imo.
Not counting HM
UVA+VT- 6 players
Wake+UNC- 15 players
Okay...
Also, am I the only one who thinks Chazz Surratt is being overrated? He has good numbers but I watched him getting juked in the hole time and time again this year.
That man is the worst LB I have ever seen. I don't think he was in position to make a play on even one single snap.
Good for Farley - obvious pick. However, how can Darrisaw, Ashby and Bradburn (honorable mention? Are you kidding me?) be where they are picked. Travesty
I mean, there are 13 other teams who probably all think the exact same thing lol.
Insightful
Less insightful and more to broaden your perspective. Every team's fan base is probably having this exact same discussion on their board about how their players got snubbed. They can't all be correct.
Seriously? I'm aware of personal bias. Thanks for the lesson though. My opinion acknowledges that and I don't legitimately agree with the assessment. If you had asked vs assuming you might have know that. For such a broad perspective you might want to ask questions first
bruh is the stick always this far up your butt or is it just particularly deep today
Asked what? Asked if this was going to trigger you for some reason? Yes, I should have asked that apparently lol.
Well, they can be if we're only talking the Coastal.
There are 13 other teams with worse punters than Oscar Bradburn.
That one is probably a snub.
idk man, the Cuse punter is probably going to get drafted and have a long career in the NFL -- they gave up 13 yards of punt returns all year. I definitely don't think there's three punters better than Bradburn in the ACC though, and if you look at the voting results it seems like the second through fourth punters all split votes.
Hopefully these players all look at this as disrespek... And you know what disrespek gives players trying to make a statement?
FTFY
Edit: Ugh. This is why I shouldn't open all the new tabs at once. 3 minutes. I've got a hankering for a dark and stormy when I get home.
Did you?
I was about to say "WTF HokieJeep" until I saw the (completed as of Nov 29)
2020 challenge?
I'm planning Marvel but.... wow that one would be weirder.
The Syracuse & NC St punters didn't have to punt to Tavion Robinson.
I have no explanation for the WF punter being 2nd team other than he got a lot more opportunities than Bradburn head to head.
Well that and something, something, North Carolina media, something, something...
Someone with good research skills and time should compare the players who got spots to: Ashby, Bradburn, Tre Turner, Darrisaw, Conner and Waller.
Hello yes, I'm not doing shit at work today. Brb (appologies my table preview is very different from what actually comes out....
Quarterman to me is the lazy pick here. Was preseason All-ACC, at Da U, clearly must be a 1st-teamer to the media eyes.
Agreed. Was genuinely surprised at Surratt's numbers thought he was the lazy "story" pick but he put up some digits.
Tre Turner Stats
His stats are weirdly similar in both years. He made a little more with each touch last season, but had a little more net yardage this season.
His stats suggest his omission is not as glaring, but I think that is more to do with his dealing with some injuries throughout the season. I think given his usage rate when healthy he would have been in consideration for All-ACC honors with more touches.
But not even an honorable mention. Come on.
It's just one I'm not as up in arms about. I think Waller is a bigger miss as only making HM, and I think Ashby should have comfortably been 1st team ahead of Quarterman. Bradburn feels a big miss as well.
I think a healthy Tre Turner won't be denied next season.
How is Ashby, who won lb of the week 5 times not 1st team??? How is Bradburn, who has the 8th highest avg nationally not higher? Complete horse shit!
Those back spasms sure were poorly timed.
Whomever punts for Syracuse- or any other team for that matter will always get the vote over Bradburn. IIWII
I'm so glad we have another year of Bradburn zingers in our future
I'd think both Keene and Mitchell could have had some looks at 3rd or 4th TE... but I don't know anything about ACC TEs outside of Jordan at Miami.
I think the thing that holds us back at TE in these popularity contests is we don't run a traditional TE.
and probably that we have two of them. lump their entire production into one guy, and Jamton Keetchell's probably a lock to appear on the end-of-season conference awards team
I think Jamton Keetchell would probably garner a lot of the same end of season hype as Cartoons Plural did when he played for VT.
it might even be classified as a meteoric rise
I would love to see the media votes and see how much homer-ism went on with the non-virginia voters. And conversely how much the virginia voters swallowed their partiality whistle and actually used their usual higher bar - seeing flaws ahead of strengths - for the virginia players they actually have a clue about.
Kind of just goes to show how much time and effort the ACC media gives to covering football
Kinda OT but does all this recognition mean Farley is gonna leave early?
