2020 Ticket Reseating

I got the email today that season tickets are on-sale and that 2020 will be a reseating year. Maybe I didn't read the full guide very well, but I couldn't find a very clear understanding of what exactly this means. Can anyone shed some light on it? We're hoping to upgrade our tickets next year and get lower & closer to the 50 vs. our current tickets.

Basically it means you don't get "first dibs" on the seats you have this year (anyone who has higher priority can pick them first). It's all done by priority for 2020.

Aren't they also changing giving levels and per seat minimums?

Wet stuff on the red stuff.

They raised giving levels by 10%, so a Golden Hokie level is now at $2750 instead of $2500. But I do not believe they raised the seat minimums, which makes no sense.

the minimum seat minimum for season tickets is now $25 up from $0. (think upper SEZ, upper East). No more season tickets without at least a token donation. Some sections may have changed price zones, I haven't looked closely and compared the 2020 map to the 2019 map, but the top tier is still $800.

Also ticket prices themselves are also going to scale by location starting this season. So Section 9 row G will cost more per ticket than Section 31 5C. Pricing tiers have not been announced, but everyone ordering tickets will initially be charged the lowest/base price, and if you end up selecting seats in a higher price area you'll have to pay the difference to complete your selection.

This. And it's probably about time. Did it ever make sense for most tickets to be the same price?

Probably. I was just covering what the reseating actually means.

A full-reseating year (like this year) is a great year to kick up your donation to obtain access to better seats. With a full re-seating this year, every seat is up for grabs. In other years you can only purchase seats that aren't renewed by the previous season ticket holder.

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks! Looks like we're goin broke this year.

It generally hasn't been a big issue for me in the past. Consecutive and cumulative giving as well as purchasing basketball and football tickets also factors into the calculations.

We just closed on our first house last week...not a great year to be reseating. Might need to let the grass get a little long during the summer.

I'll loan you my manual push mower so you don't have to spend on gas/electric for it haha
