So Andy Bitter tweeted a few days ago that the beat writers joked about the Coastal Division combining to make an All-star team in an attempt to beat FSU in the ACC championship. This idea got me thinking, and then it made me sad when I realized how many Virginia Tech players would be on it... Here is my Coastal Division All-star team (injuries taken into account):
Defense: Virginia Tech (I think this is pretty obvious, the only changes I'd make is maybe Tre Boston (UNC) for Detrick Bonner, and Jeremiah Attaochu (GT) to split time with J.R. Collins)
QB: Logan Thomas (This can easily be argued with, but IMO he is the only QB with the elite talent too compete with FSU. IF its one of LT's good games, he gives the team the best chance too win) Who else would it be?
WR: I need help with this one, honestly no receivers in the coastal have made a very big splash, maybe DJ Coles, maybe Jamison Crowder (Duke). If I had to guess, Crowder along with some of Miami's WR's would probably be the most talented group.
RB: Also hard with the injury of Duke Johnson, but I'd give it too either Dallas Crawford (MIA) or Trey Edmunds (*little bit of bias*). Dallas has raw talent, and has been a productive replacement to Johnson though.
TE: Eric Ebron (UNC), pretty easy
OL: I could use some help on this one too. Andrew Miller? Miami's line?
It's kind of sad to see the number of Tech players on this list compared to the on field production against teams like Duke, BC, and Maryland, but who would you guys put on the Coastal All-star team to play FSU?

For D, you have to include Aaron Donald. That guy is a beast and a force at DT.
For WR: Crowder, Devin Street. Maybe add in Hurns or Boyd and get DJ as a big body in the RZ
For RB: That's tough, with no Duke Johnson I do like Edmunds a lot. Of course you have to give the ball to him for it to work...
Agree on QB and TE. If you look at the Coastal, who else would you want to have. All the QBs have issues.
I have no clue on OL, but I'd take Grimes to coach them!
Edit: Took out the Atlantic players
Boston College isn't in the Coastal Division, so you'd have to remove Amidon, Andre Williams & Edibali.
Doh! I knew that which is why I excluded Williams and then shat the bed with the other two. Good catch. Of course we play them every year so it feels like they are. Kind of like ECU.
I'll try this based on numbers and the eye test. Not even gonna try with OL.
First team offense:
First-team defense:
Would you really have Luther in over MANBEARPIG? Also, I don't consider Kyle Fuller or Antone Exum "injured", the injury condition was essentially meant too exclude players who have suffered season ending injuries (Duke Johnson, Renner).
yeah disagree on Maddy over Hopkins as well. DT isn't a flashy position but Hopkins is playing as well as any defensive player in the the country right now.
D: VT
QB: Logan/Tom Savage
RB: Un-hurt Duke Johnson or hate-to-say-it.. Kevin Parks with UVa
WR: Jamison Crowder/Devin Street/Allen Hurns
TE: Hands-down Ebron
OL: Wang, Miller, Miami OL
Pride comes before the fall. FSU still has to play the ACC title game against a full team. Before I go out and dub them 2001 Miami Hurricanes, lets just see if they can manage to win with a sexual assult charge that looks like isn't going away anytime soon.
Yeah, that's going to be a distraction.
If it's true, yeah. If it's false, only if they file charges.
