Hokies are a leader for 2015 DB DuWayne Johnson

According to Ryan Bartown of 247Sports Virginia Tech is a leader for DuWayne Johnson. DuWayne is a 3-star corner in the class of 2015 (Woodson H.D. in Washington, DC), but more importantly if he plays at Tech we can call him "The Rock" for 3-5 years.

"I like Virginia Tech, Georgia and Notre Dame," Johnson told 247Sports recently at his high school. "Virginia Tech has recruited me the hardest. They have a leg up as theyve made me a priority."

What has the Hokies on top for the Washington (D.C.) Woodson H.D. standout?

"I really liked the atmosphere there when I went to their Spring Game during my sophomore year," Johnson said. "(Wide receivers) coach (Aaron) Moorehead came to see me. I talked to Josh Morgan and he told me how it was there. I like their fans and how everything shuts down in their down on game days."

His offer list is impressive.

"Arkansas, Georgia, Clemson, Miami, Virginia Tech and Michigan State are my main offers," Johnson said. "I'm getting interest from Alabama, Florida State and Notre Dame. I'm hoping Florida and Alabama offer."

I'm hoping Alabama and Florida don't offer. I want him to be a Hokie.

There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city.

I apologize for my ignorance in recruiting, but does that mean UF and Bama are actually his favorites and he's just settling for VT right now? Should one of those two schools offer him are we getting hung out to dry?

"The Big Ten is always using excuses to cancel games with us. First Wisconsin. Then Wisconsin. After that, Wisconsin. The subsequent cancellation with Wisconsin comes to mind too. Now Penn State. What's next? Wisconsin?" -HorseOnATreadmill

Hard to tell what any HS football players are thinking. He may want the offers just for ego's sake. If 'Bama or UF get him, no biggie. We don't have any problems recruiting DBs. If he commits to VT, great.

He prefers the ability to consider Alabama and Florida along with the other schools he already has offers from. Don't read too much into it.

someone help me out with the catch phrase

Bama is every recruits favorite. It's assumed. Luckily, they can only take 25 players. Otherwise, they'd get 775 commits a year like they did under Bear Bryant when there were no scholarship limits.

Surprised he's not hot on Miami, following in the footsteps the impressive DT Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. I'm wondering if he's considering WWE and a life of mediocre acting.
