Even that 12th guy for UVA's offense couldn't stop our defense from a pick-6 on this play! Such a UVA-type move. . .
This is in my top 3 Hokie memories of all time! The clips from this game never get old.
Whenever I see the Banks INT clip I always forget that Tech was already ahead at the time. The score & crowd's reaction was just icing on the cake.

I think Steve Fairchild said in a radio interview that UVA should never lose recruits to VT.

Even though I was not at this game, it is by far my favorite UVA/VT game ever. Phenomenal.
Any UVA/VT game where UVA HAS to win to go bowling, and they lose, is fantastic in my book.
What year was it when UVA was doing well, and VT had a few losses, and if UVA won, they would go to the ACCCG, but we beat them? That wasn't 38-0 was it?

Yep, the 2007 matchup was pretty awesome. It was essentially a Coastal Division Championship game as VT was ranked #8 in the nation and UVA was #16. Here are the highlights:

I was there in '95 and it was AWESOME. Interesting note on 'The Catch'. Watch the bottom of the formation before the play and Corny White (who Gentry used to say had three lungs) is gassed and tells Holmes to switch positions and run his go route.
BTW- Holmes is still at Tech in the Athletic Dept. If I see him I say- "still a legend"
I've always thought that someone should make a Weird-Al type song to the tune of Train's "Meet Virginia", but instead "Beat Virginia"...I can't wait to....Beat Virginia. There are a lot more creative minds on here than my own, maybe someone can do it.

Here in Lynchburg...The Sportsline just wrapped up their 16th annual Va Tech/UVA Song Parody Contest.....I did the Fray's "How To Save a Life".....renamed..."How To Suck Best Right"....I didn't win...."Meet Virginia" would be a great song to do.....

On a tour of Virginia, the Pope took a couple of days off to visit the coastal area for some sightseeing. He was cruising along the beach in his Pope mobile. Suddenly he noticed a frantic commotion just off shore.
A helpless man, wearing a UVA jersey, was struggling frantically to free himself from the jaws of a 25-foot shark. As the Pope watched, horrified, a speedboat came racing up with three men wearing VT jerseys aboard. One quickly fired a harpoon into the sharks side. The other two reached out and pulled the bleeding, semiconscious UVA fan from the water. Then using baseball bats, the three heroes beat the shark to death and hauled it into the boat also.

As the Pope drove off, the harpooner asked his buddies Who was that?
