But we can make an OC change, take our Senior QB and ridiculously talented defense into 2013 and do what UF or UGA or KSU is doing this year and uva could spend another year shuffling QB's and saving TO's and the gap could widen up considerably.

in the sense that they stayed really bad and we had one of our worst years in 20 years. Granted, I was impressed with some of the hits UVA was laying on Tech Saturday and it seemed like their intensity was at a higher level than in previous years however I don't see where the "gap is closing". Their team went from 8 wins last year to 5 wins this year so it's not like they did anything to say they're closing in on Virginia Tech. I guess if you want to say the gap is closing because Tech was terrible this year and so were we(per usual), then I would agree.

Does anyone else feel like we were toying with the hoos the whole game? We didn't put the game away, but did try a lot of new and trick plays (i.e. Sam Rogers)

The defensive gameplan changed completely the second Lambert stepped on the field. It was pretty much all base looks with Trimble blitzing up the middle or nickel with Tyler and/or Edwards coming through the A gaps. Foster couldn't blitz Watford because of the threat of the read option (I'm not sure we even had a single sack against him), but once that was gone, Bud released the hounds. It was beautiful.

Are my eyes deceiving me? Just what in the HELL do you think you're doing?
Learning about Cuba! Havin' some food!
You are on dangerous ground here, Mr. Spicoli! This is a major infringement on MY TIME!
Well, I've been thinking about that, Mr. Hand. You see, if you're here AND I'm here, doesn't that make it OUR TIME? Surely there's nothing wrong with a little bit of a feast on my part of OUR time?

Well guess what? Our defense (especially the front 7) will be pretty darn young too. Pretty sure Foster and Wiles don't care. Just plug in the young guys (Hello, Mr. Williams) and keep on goin'. Will there be a dropoff? Probably. But a dropoff from this group probably isn't gonna be all that bad.

Outstanding! +1!!
Nice work
Is he taking Michael Strahan to an orthodontist?
It appears
As if I'm the only one who saw what you did there
Just now got this after seeing it four or five times... I'm ashamed.
Isn't he right though?
Sure....
...assuming we stand still.
But we can make an OC change, take our Senior QB and ridiculously talented defense into 2013 and do what UF or UGA or KSU is doing this year and uva could spend another year shuffling QB's and saving TO's and the gap could widen up considerably.
That would be good
UVA's last 3 seasons: (4-8) (8-5) (4-8)
VT's last 3 seasons: (11-3) (11-3) (6-6)*
If anyone's closed the gap, it's us. It's a lot easier to recharge a battery than build a car.
*= bowl game pending
And now this year -
VT 8-4 and playing in a bowl game
UVA 2-10 and not playing in anything but puddles after it rains
You sure those puddles aren't from their own tears?
Those booHoo tears taste suspiciously like zima.
My money's on the puddle to cover the spread
wasnt al saying the same thing a few years ago?
Yes the gap is closing...

And by 5 wins
..I mean 4
Leg for appropriately exhuming this thread.
I only felt it was appropriate.
If by "gap" he meant from the start of his career at UVA to his career there ending I agree.

I got the real feeling that neither Beamer nor Foster had a lot of respect for their offense.
Especially once they pulled Watford. I could almost see Foster's drool from my TV.
it did seem to energize the defense. at least watford could run, lambert was a deer in the headlights out there.

Our way of extending our heartfelt welcome to another cav QB
Blood in the water........
"Gap is Closing" is the new "Da U is Back"
saying it out loud does not hide the facts.
Same with "on the rise"
They keep using these phrases... I do not think they mean what Hoos think they mean.
Also I saw yet again on the Sabre that "they will be young next year". How many years in a row can you be young?
It's the Spicoli Effect.
Ahhhh Knarly!!

inconceivable
"incontheivable"

Is London using invsaligns or something?
"TIMEOUT!"
He should close his gap.
Its closing as fast as a glacier ... or a turtle climbing Everest.
closing or not- it's pretty frick'n lame when you pride yourself
in losing just a little bit less crappily than previous years.
Call a (real) cop.
The gap of his sphincter?
I would like to thank the Academy
(the Police Academy) for its contribution to the
multiple victories during London's career.
Mike London as played by Will Ferrel
THIS. IS. AWESOME!
Hey Coach London, Cool story, Bro
