I saw this yesterday while watching football, although I think the sound was off for the first half of the commercial. Argyle has put on a little weight.

There are actually only about three battery manufacturers that sell in the US and most of the "brands" are a mix depending on the specific battery. I've never bought a diehard but for every brand the quality can vary from one size to the next depending on who built it. I've seen a Panasonic made battery but most are Johnson controls, Exide or EastPenn regardless of name.

I have found that there is a difference between crappy and top notch in the battery world, but not as much as the price difference you pay. So I usually just buy the generic battery and hope for the best.
Similarly, Rayovac household batteries seem to be the best bang for your buck.

Ha! That was fun.
twas the night before Christmas
and all through the house
not a creature was stirring
except for the four assholes coming in the rear in standard two-by-two cover formation
Oh, looks the LAPD have themselves an RV. Southwest corner!
And the quarterback is toast!
Yippie Kay Yay Mr Falcon

I'm pretty sure all they bought was the name and it's still the same crappy batteries. But it makes for a great commercial.
