A whole lot people in the East stands make airplanes all game. At one game (WKU?) the guy in front of me got a game-guide or something, tore out the staple, and proceded to make each page into an airplane over the course of the game. What the hell is the point?

I was so mad when some dumbass threw an airplane last weekend. We were sitting in the middle of the East stands, our D was on the field, UNC was driving, in our redzone. It was THIRD DOWN. And everyone is cheering for this stupid paper airplane that was going to land on the field. Seriously??!! It's third down! And you're watching a paper airplane? Go home.

As long as we never were those Orange hjerseys with the god-awful white helmets, I don't really care. They look like Wahoo unis, not VT!

These should never look look so similar.

I'd contest that we are better than UF on defense (certainly) and on offense (maybe? on a good day? It's at least negligible). The issue is that the ACC has been assumed to be SEC-lite for so long now, that perception is hard to shake in one season (even when it isn't true).

Having met Gary Busey, I can say with authority that you do not want him on your selection comittee. The guy really is as crazy as he seems

Well in the basketball commitee, when a school from your conference comes up, they leave the table to keep issues like that from coming up. I'm sure they will try to emulate that as much as possible.

2010:

It depends how much transparency there is. If they answer questions about why so-and-so didn't get in, while so-and-so did, I think I'd be ok with it. Especially if they were consistent. I think it'd be nice to break away from polls (as they're too heavily influenced by preseason polls and assumptions), and the computers (as they provide no transparency at all there, and sometimes give bizarro solutions). I'd hate to trust the outcome of my sport to any black-box style "inputs go in here, solution comes out here, just trust us" style protocol, which is essentially what the computers are.

Well said - last year cost us the benefit of the doubt against weaker teams. This team is certainly capable of running roughshod over the Coastal, but certainly not a garauntee at this point. I hope last year keeps this team focussed and hungry, because if so, it could be a rough year for the rest of the division (particularly the offenses!)

haha, my bad. Fedora, Franklin... whatever. That guy.

Maybe? I could be wrong. I just remember it was cold as hell, and nobody could move the ball at all. I think Duke ran some sort of triple option offense they have never run before or since.

I remember every piece of exposed skin burning. The players were so cold, there was something like 8 combined fumbles, and the passing game was non-existant. Eventually Frank had to pull Glennon (because nobody could throw or catch) and put in Tyrod, who just ran around a little (presumably to stay warm). Macho iced (heh - get it?) the game with a pick-six.

By the end of the game, We pretty much all looked like this:

I think that was the point

This guy has fewer than 200 views on all of his videos. Where did you find him? And most of the comments are from people on other teams telling him he sucks, so I can't imagine even half of his views come from UNC fans

New recruiting pitch idea for qbs - "Come to VT, where you'll never have to play against our D-Line on a Saturday"

hahaha at the sporting news - Perhaps wait for Butch Jones' recruits to graduate before declaring James Franklin amazing. A poorly trained baboon could be successful coaching a team with those linemen and skill-position players.

"I am Renner's reckoning."

I don't think it's worth very much. They clearly do not understand the meaning of the word "porous" as they use it for a negative description of an offense.

I was just about to post this - tons of successful DBs see both sides (well, not tons, but some). If it helps us get more talent on the field, sure. And, I mean, it's not like this will ruin him in the event someone gets injured back there. I'd think of him as "Starting Corner B" who dabbles in recieving. Splitting time with Exum would allow him to be fresh enough to play both sides too.
