Depends heavily on quaterbacking. If we get good/great qb play, then sure. If we don't, not a chance.

Fair enough, I'm just saying in a tight game we were missing our kicker because he's an idiot.

Well Janikowski is legitimately awesome. Accurate and long ranged. I guess my point is that if you're going to be a kicker who is a problem off the field, you'd better be amazing...

Emergency room vet in Fredericksburg is actually from NCSt. He's a good one too.

Seriously, can you ever remember a kicker who was as big a distraction off of the field? He had the mace in the B-dubs, he was arrested when he tried to steal drugs back from someone with a pellet-gun... And it's not like he's the greatest kicker we've ever had. I'd trade him for Meyers in a heartbeat. How much rope does he have left after a performance like today's?

EDIT - forgot about him missing the Sugar Bowl because of the aforementioned shenanigans, which forced a 3rd string kicker/kickoff specialist into the starting role, who missed the kick in OT...

At least for all things college. They aren't too bad when it comes to pro coverage.

When I was coming out of school I had a job interview with this aerodynamics company located in Charlottesville. The guy who founded the company was a UVA grad and they were looking at hiring an AOE student. I asked if he was interviewing any UVA engineers, and he said no, because "VT grads are better"

Exactly - same reason these agents flipped on the SEC kids - they got spurned by them, and saw no reason not to air some dirty laundry. Guys who weren't happy with the way things went down for whatever reason are the most likely whistleblower. You think Dez Bryant is going to come out and say "yeah, I'm funtionally illiterate, smoked pot all the time, and was paid by boosters!"... No way. Somone who saw all that crap happen and was upset because a) they didn't get any, or b) they were oppossed to the way things were being done are going to be the guys who speak out.

Did you not even read the post?

Because they aren't in bed with the schools they are supposed to be reporting on (*cough*ESPN*cough*cough*)?

9th grade art class. We just thought it was an accident at the time (only the first plane had hit), so we were watching the news (because, I mean, art class... nbd). So we saw the second plane hit in real time. Watched up through the first tower coming down. Nobody believed me at lunch. I was too young to really appreciate the magnitude of what I was seeing at the time, but I'll definitely never forget the minute I saw that second plane come in and sort of turn/roll to make sure it hit the second tower and we realized that this wasn't just some crazy accident.

I'm going because I need to get into Lane and scream at the top of my lungs while I watch our Hokies beat WCU's qb to death with his own linemen. It's literally a need.

Pretty sure that's Al Groh. He doesn't look look like he was ever a cop.

Very nice! Looking forward to seeing this every week - also, does the top picture work for anyone else? I can't see that one.

Could you imagine getting excited/thinking you have an offer to a BCS school in 8th grade? You start following the team, become a huge fan, and then, more than likely, don't get the offer... That's just brutal. And the kids are way too young to know when someone's blowing smoke up their ass. The whole process is pretty disgusting.

The only reason I could see doing something like this is that it gets the kid interested in your school at a young age. When I was in middle school, I didn't watch college football - just pro.

But London has no idea how an 8th-grader is going to grow. The kid could just be an early bloomer who stops blooming, for all he knows. I think it's just to build buzz with that kid, and amoungst his peers, which is sorta despicable if the kid plateaus and they never give him a real offer...
