This is huge. We really needed him to stick around. Welcome back, Dadi.
Defense also had a chance to seal the win and failed. Team loss.
I'd argue the GT loss is pretty squarely on the shoulders of Michael Brewer rather than the offense as a whole. Hands down his worst game, IMO.
I can't agree with your assessment. Our offense and defense were terrible in the first quarter irrespective of one another. The defense surrendered those points because ECU targeted Faycson and exploited his (injury-derived) limitations. There's no reason to think that if the offense had answered, our D would not have given up scores on their first three drives.
The team fell behind against ECU in part because the offense couldn't get a first down to buy time for the defense.
The defense gave up 21 points in the first quarter.
I got a pair of maroon VT Dockers. I didn't even know that was a thing.
I would expect them both to play if needed, but dont want to get in there and have four different running backs playing either," Shane said.

I like Knob Creek and it's my fallback when I'm at a bar that doesn't stock Woodford, but for some reason I always find the ethanol to be overly assertive in their product. Have not tried their single barrel yet though.
I'd recommend Four Roses Small Batch. Right at the $30 price point. Not quite as rich and complex as their Single Barrel, but still a steal for the price.
Godspeed, Yoshi. I hope you find what you're looking for.
Oh man cashew brittle is so much better than peanut brittle. Cashews are my favorite nut, and their natural buttery flavor makes it perfect for brittle.
Wow. Based on that I am giving serious consideration to just picking up a bottle of Maker's 46 and another bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel.
And the yellow flag that made me swear off the NFL for the foreseeable future.

Devil's advocate leg for you, sir.
I simply cannot believe the quality of Four Roses Single Barrel at the price point. Makes me really want to try the 2013 Limited Edition.
Also, the continual retention bonus is much better than an annuity, because you don't have to swallow the whole thing at once.
First things first...
Now that that's out of the way...
In retrospect, I'm actually surprised bean counter Jim Weaver came up with a lump sum retention annuity rather than yearly retention bonuses like Whit has enacted, because the lump sum put us in such a financial bind for one season. The yearly retention bonus will be easier on the budget.
Are you sure that wasn't the retention bonus from the previous year? That would make more sense.
I always thought single malt just meant it wasn't blended scotch, i.e. the product in the bottle was distilled from a single mash. I wasn't aware scotch could be distilled with adjunct grains in the mash.
This is why I love TKP as more than just a VT football blog.
Never heard of it. Have you tried it?
What's the exception?
No such legal requirement that it be distilled in Kentucky. Now of course only bourbon distilled in the state can be labeled "Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey," but any liquor distilled from a mash of at least 51% corn and aged in charred new oak barrels for at least two years can legally be called bourbon.
There are a number of bourbons (all labeled as such) coming out of Colorado right now.
Been rolling this around in my mind since this story broke. We're paying this man half his base salary as a bonus for staying at VT each year. This is a really smart way to structure the contract and makes me like Whit even that much more.

Someone PLEASE Photoshop Brewer's face over Westley here and we have the perfect visual representation of this season.
