Pry was hired because he was the only person in Balleins rolodex that answered the phone. He absolutely was no the james franklin experience. He hadn't been a head coach at any level before much less P5/P4. Franklin has been a Head whistle for 15 years.

I appreciate Monty stepping into an impossible situation. I don't like how things have gone, but that doesnt change that he did the job, even if it was ugly. There was no happy ending for this team this year. Pretending otherwise was always foolish.

One slight problem. Pry was hired under the same theory as Franklin: try to do Penn State at Virginia Tech. And lack of investment is not the problem with this team, it's coaching.

That's a hell of a hill to die on, you've made it through the last 10 years of VT football and tonight is the line for you?
Lots of hate for these coaches. I'm not saying it's unjustified but they are the coaches that Pry hired... Pry is great in many ways but building a competent coaching staff is not one of them.
It's not surprising that the coaches who got Pry fired would be bad after he's gone.
Can we address the Mines love yet. He recruits well but they can't get open or catch.
Lol man imagine the shit Franklin is talking about how much better those recruits would be watching this team right now. We shot ourselves in the foot so many times against a team that is now playing in the title game. Franklin could easily have us dominating this shit conference almost immediately

They got their guy in Pry and it led to this pile of shit. They don't know their ass from a hole in a ground about football and they need to listen to the proven winner in the room going forward
I was thinking the same thing.
A Green - spectacular catches but missing for most of the game.
