(My) translation:
Gameday was told by the agent/etc: 'leak a little bit to peak the interest, but we want to announce it when it's our right time.'

Gameday: 'if we say anything, it better be right b/c we dont want egg on our face. .'

Agent: 'oh, it's done, but we'll officially announce it when we're ready '

That is a carefully worded message....

At least everyone on set was like "they've been in the early stages since two weeks ago". 😆

Just making what we all knew was happening official.

Hopefully the timeline adds up though and we can get some resolution next week.

I think the announcement was already made:

"James Franklin in early stages of talks to become Virginia Tech Head Coach"

At least they did that early, so you don't have to watch all three hours of College Gameday.
