Golish, Somroll, and Helton....
Sounds like something from a fairy tale.
I remain steadfast in my affirmation that VT should be playing WVU every year. So set that up and we have our schedule figured for the next few years.
Last time we got lapped before opening kickoff.
You're welcome
Roster building was half the job when Fuente (and Pry) were coaching. However, if we implement an NFL-like front office structure (which I think is what is being alluded to), roster building will fall mostly on the front office. And, honestly, that's where it needs to be. The HC doesn't need to be caught up in NIL negotiations. They need to focus on maximizing the performance of the talent available to them.
And maybe he was making that money prior to ACC, and they did well in their first year so im sure they took care of him.
I would expect the schools with yearly SEC rivalry games (FSU,GT, Clemson, UL) to vote for the 9+1 so their OOC P4 requirement is already met. Would also guess that they would want guarantees that they get 5 home/4 away conference games when their SEC rival is an away game. Remaining 2 games are home games with cupcakes. Might reduce the chances of those teams playing in big OOC matchups other than their rivals at neutral sites.
As stated, with other P4 conferences switching to 9+1, the 8+2 model becomes a nightmare for scheduling. 9+1 just makes it easier.
Also reduces the chances of teams scheduling no P4 opponents and/or 2 FCS schools in a season.
Moore and Delane being a critical part of LSU's success this year gets talked about quite often on SZD so I fully expect Lovett to go somewhere in the P2 and excel because that's how it seems to go.

I would much rather have the 8-2 but as stated you'd have to have that mandated in each conference and I know certain conferences really like to stick to their cake walk ooc games so I doubt it happens. A 9th in conference game with the growing conference isn't so bad and maybe it keeps us from scheduling (and losing) games to bad fbs and fcs schools.
Can we implement this asap and replace jmu with literally anyone else so I don't have to live through losing through them twice.
I would bet Lovett could make a a P4 roster. I have a feeling that our position coaching isn't quite P4 Level
(prolly: once they finalize the new single-shot Portal Window system): opening Jan. 2 and closing Jan. 11 for Football (FBS)... or something calendar close are your magic numbers...
...to leave inside this Firing generated (3o-day) Window... means you miss at least November and December; and quite possibly the October's pay stub to boot. That could amount to multi $10 Ks of income per month for the few you'd prolly wanna Coach Next keep.
So, we shall Biblically see... although, we IV think we see(s) a lot lot lot mo' making like a baby and heading out after early January... in extreme particular if they tank like Shamu under Monty to close. Then, we have the Wake leftovers look from the 4-game r-shirt cut-off thingy looming. i.e., don't die of shock if they are in self-preservation mode for the next 8Q's of: work. Tanking. Ducking. Sliding.
Go'on and bet the Over on Mr. French's film-room critique, suffering a hard non-P.C. painful response here TKP peeps.
All of which MEANS ...you seriously need to have a New Ranch Master in place by the end of 2025 to mind the Beamer Barn. (As opposed to minding the barn after the horses have all run, away...)
again... we shall, see...

I tried winning the $1.8 billion to donate this, but someone else stole it from me.
SMU at TCU (TCU -7.5)
(17) Texas Tech at (16) Utah (Utah -3.5)
unc at UCF (UCF -6.5)
(22) Auburn at (11) Oklahoma (Okla -6.5)
(21) Michigan at Nebraska (M -2.5)
(9) Illinois at (19) Indiana (-4.5)
Yeah the SMU number doesn't hold water for me with how much they threw at their roster. SMU is private so isn't required to disclose any compensation details. They are also a Nike school that participates in the Nike Summer Camps program which usually brings a big check for the coach.
He would only play the next game if he wants this to be a redshirt year for him. Then he would basically quit the team if he hasn't already.
Since he bailed on the team, kick him off and end payments.
I guess he'll just have to show out next week

He's not completely off-base on that- who can guess how this upcoming weekend will go? ....
I can get you 10-15m easily, thats our profit the last 2-3 years
I vaguely remember from my student years in the prehistoric 1980s that the reason more large concerts couldn't be held at Cassell because the ceiling/roof couldn't handle many bands equipment that was suspended from ceiling...but I could be misremembering...
They could hand the football program to a GM that doesn't report to Whit and buy him a little time. Hard to envision a new football coach reporting to a short timer...who would take that job?

This is a wild proposal (and one I get chastised for)...with the new model paying players, why can't transfers be trades? This year would have been LSU gives us 2 starters/all league players in exchange.
