i mean, i thought we were talking about head coaches here, not figureheads
Women all over the Commonwealth have said so
Wow! LOLUVA's D is horrid. Drones may get his first TD pass when we play them.
Watching the Penn State game and they are not looking like the #2 team in the country. Defense is playing fine, but their OL is going to get killed by any B1G team with a pulse if they play like this going forward
and a 2 of the same number penalty. Pry showing his national influence😂
That stadium is so empty.
Dook pulling a VT and doing all they can to lose it. Lots of dropped passes, 2 in the end zone. Two fumbles also. Their run defense looks good though.

I've travelled to the future and back to tell you. Hokies by 14.
Do we know anything about depth chart/injuries/suspensions?
NC State isn't as good as some years past, probably similar to their team last year.
UVA is competitive, like they may go 6-6 and fold against big teams, but they're definitely a threat to teams like us who could be between 4 and 8 wins.
It's also a lot less money to be competitive at FCS then be a G5. With our money we'd have easily done the same. To take the leap to competing for playoffs is a much more difficult task.
If you had a buttload of money, you'd be able to reshape Merryman. You could have strings attached to your donation, force changes by withholding, and have the ear of the BOV and AD.
Well, sucks, but they're not wrong
That loophole MUST be closed. Our public schools have to be allowed to operate like the private ones
I have hope today. I really do.
You're right. Another distinct advantage.
They already have a huge advantage thanks to the laws surrounding Student Fees to Athletics. They aren't held to the same law that applies to Tech and UVA. Student Athletic Fees as of last year at JMU were $2362 a year or almost $10K per student in a 4 year degree. That's $49.6M a year from Athletic Fees based on just undergraduate enrollment.
This is my take.
As much as I've loathed Pry's incredible inability to not be able to manage a game, he is a first time Head Coach. Maybe it's taking him a little time to settle into some of these things. I am pulling for Pry. I think he is the type of guy we need. But, dang... he really needs to elevate his game management skills. I see a lot of things he does well.
UVA defense is just as soft. This one will be a shoot out or who makes the fewest big mistakes on offense.
Yes I would. But I don't have that kind of money laying around.
This. And I know many of the people who make this happen at JMU. I watch them walk in unison. I watch them raise money. I watch the alumni base and community rally behind continuity.
I think JMU has a couple advantages. One, is they have a bit of history at the lower level that many long time fans remember and appreciate. I don't know the exact percentage, but much of the student body is from the Northeast, NOVA or the 757. That is a small footprint. Additionally, many graduates stay somewhat regional for the first stop on their career pursuits (many opting to work in the DC area from the School of Business). Every single person involved understands what you stated - It takes unified steps with a long term vision to make this happen; it takes a commitment to making the next step (whatever that is) that is right in front of you (JMU has done this for the better part of 2 decades), and it takes an understanding that success on the football field directly impacts enrollment.
The only thing that is lagging a bit is that only now are the men, remember it used to be a women's only university, who graduated some 40+ years ago at an age, or passing away, putting big $$ into that program. If VT isn't careful, JMU might have the opportunity to make some significant strides over VT as it relates to athletics.
A mix of both. NC State didn't look stellar against ECU. Morris at QB for UVA has been pretty steady at around 65% completion at the other 3 schools he went to and is in his 6th year. NC State has a weak secondary too.
iPhone has moved its goalposts to 6pm to 8pm light rain. Bastards

Ok, bets are going out.
