I've played golf. I have never played soccer. I enjoy watching soccer. I'd rather watch grass grow than watch golf.

Clark Lea thinks he's a better football mind than Jerry Kill.

Getting to east side in a campervan will be a bit of an adventure. Road to Hana can be sporty in a compact car. Lots of curves, sections that are one lane, and road raging locals trying to do it going 50.

Stop along the way for some banana bread. Take your time. Service/GPS is spotty. Recommend downloading the GyPSy Guide Road to Hana app. Cheap, narrated, shows all the spots along the way worth stopping, works without service.

Honumanu Bay was a good stop. Cool views, few people. Wainaapanapa state park is cool for the black sand beach, but is main tourist destination. Have to book entrance time in advance. We took the late afternoon slot and it was great. Pipiwai trailhead/seven sacred pools are in Haleakala NP, but separate entrance on that side of island. Pipiwai can be steep and slippery, but it's a nice hike.

I crammed all that in a day, which was a lot. Most my time was around Lahaina, and most recs are food and bars.

Around Haleakala main entrance, Surfing Goat Dairy is awesome. On your way in Hailemaile General Store has solid food and a great Mai Tai. Some of the best food on the island is actually at the food truck park close to the airport. Worth a stop on your way in and out.

I'm not a big hiker, but my partner is. If there's something awesome that I think will be too much for me, I'm happy to let him go explore on his own while I toodle around, so go ahead and suggest anything and everything :)

(I plan to let him pick a lot of the hiking, because it's his birthday trip, but he doesn't know where we're going (yet), only that we're going somewhere)

Since they closed the mail hub in Roanoke, our service has been horrible. It takes two weeks to mail anything. I have literally had a bill delivered after it was already due.

Well that wasn't too bad of a start. I set the fucking tone, boys! Never lose again (until I inevitably do this week).
LOLuva at NC State (NCSU -3.5)
Iowa at (16) Iowa State (Ia St -3.5)
Baylor at (17) Southern M (SMU -3.5)
(20) Old Miss at Kentucky (OMe -10.5)
(12) Arizona State at Miss St (AzSt -6.5)
(15) Michigan at (18) Oklahoma (Okla -5.5)

Hate to say it, FAM, but take LOLUVA in that NCSU matchup.

ECU and Coastal are not terribly different teams, and NCSU really struggled for most of that game. LOLUVA has a QB and a couple weapons around him, along with a revamped OL. That isn't the same old LOLUVA team. They will win in Raleigh this weekend.

See how bad it is? So be we've never worn it!

I can imagine it (so it must be true)...maybe we wore for a spring game or something.

Irregardless...let's keep it out of the rotation.

No W-M-M in our history.
Only O-M-M (2-1 record) and stone-M-M (1-0) outside the M-M-M.

BOTW: Coors Banquet. Simple and clean. With with USMNT playing at 5, then VT at 730, need just a lil lower abv...

A list of misc. thoughts...

  • I'm a cynic, but any time a coach complains about something to the media, I assume it's self serving - ie; he's lobbying his boosters for money, or he's setting the table for a disappointing season, etc
  • Lane's job is changing in a big a way. Just like my job is changing due to AI, his job is changing due to NIL. He's going to have to work with a front office staff (at some point), and that means he's relinquishing control. A lot of coaches - even those in the SEC - don't like that.
  • Lane Kiffin literally went on this podcast and said 'it's not good that these kids are getting this much money' then went on to tell a story about visiting recruit where 10 people lived in a 2 bedroom house, and they had so much love and warmth that they didn't money.. bro what??
  • I do buy the notion that coaches are upset because their jobs are less and less about football and more and more about off the field stuff

Also, attributing "more money, more problems" to Jay-z (not biggie) is criminal.

EDIT TO ADD:
I understand that these kids are raised in hyper competitive environments where on field success is rewarded above everything else (literally), so I understand why adding money into the mix further distorts their reality. But the correct move isn't to refuse to give these kids money; it's too change the environments their raised in. That responsibility belongs to parents, coaches, teachers, and all the other adults these kids interact with throughout their childhood. If you don't fix that, the issue will always exist.

I got a zero 2 years ago. you should get something for picking them all wrong.
