I for one wish I had the kind of money where spending a million a year to buy my team a QB was an option. Alas, I work for a living.
I have had this conversation with a number of peers over that last 1.5 years. When I made mention that IMHO, the total bust on ROI alone, in time, will bring this absurdity to a screeching halt, they look at me like I'm a total buffoon.
I just don't get it. How can any sane person believe that throwing millions on one college player is a worthy investment?

In May Hokies offered to my daughter's classmate at Roanoke Catholic. 2027 WR Demarcus Brown. 6'4" 180 lb.
Watched him last year. Natural athlete. #5 WR in state. 14 D1 offers including CAL, U. of South Carolina, Louisville, UVA, Syracuse, . Knows how to high point. Actively catches the ball. Is prepared to get yards after catch. Does not fall down just because someone grabbed him. Gets mentioned at camps as a high performer. He is my daughters friend. Good GPA. I've met him at events, seems a good guy. He'd be a good Hokie.

Waypoint, Fat Tuna, and Le Yaca have been good food stops for me. The crab crepe at Le Yaca is huge, and pretty tasty.
If you have kids or enjoy pinball, check out Precarious. They have good beer, a bunch of pinball machines and a couple of pretty good restaurants.
Not a bad way to kill an evening.

That lodging would be cool, but we already got our stay booked, my folks do the timeshare thing and they got a place out there that we're getting for no charge to us

Internationals can receive NIL if performance is outside the US. Amoore got paid for podcasts in Australia but the amount accounted for all her podcasts. Other similar things were done to provide NIL.
Maybe our lack of "competitive NIL" means that an international player who can't receive NIL views the playing time of not competing with other 5 stars as a positive
