I agree, tech can at least carve a path through the crap of the acc. Stop playing odu, wofford' vmi and the rest of the little sisters of the poor, and play real football schools. Losses to good teams will still get views . That is what this is all about. Getting watched on TV, and maybe on the way to playing good teams, we can become better. Playing weak teams make you weak, and makes me not want to watch the team that I love play football. Shitty football is shitty football, even when my Alma mater is involved. Stop playing weak fucking teams!

Sometimes you have to make your luck. I think if VT admin showed they were serious about football the big leagues would see that and value VT as an asset. The facilities are there and the fans are fantastic. Just needs some leadership
Not just the coinciding teams at the checkpoint, but also that stretch of the trail that's already been run through by most teams now getting a second pass on the way back up
All in all a good day at the ball park. It was a little chilly! Mid to upper 40's with 10-15 mph winds. But I was dressed for it. Kind of like a late season football game (ha).
My only complaint... the dad-gone home plate umpire was the most inconsistent umpire I've ever seen! The same pitch would hit the mitt in the same place... one time it's a strike, next time it's a ball. The only thing good about him was he was consistently inconsistent for both teams! So there's that.
Thank you for the tip. If we are ever in the area again, I'll have to suggest this spot to them. We normally go to the Indian place that is over on Prices Fork Road. Did not know this one even existed.
And thought it might be nice to see the field around the Kaltag loop. Can see how they are going down the Yukon to Anvil and then the overland stretches to Shageluk then back to Grayling and on up. I really struggle with not ordering the biryani every single time I'm there. But, everything I have had has been great.
The spice levels aren't always consistent. Sometimes a 4 is all I can handle. Sometimes it's mild. And I've seen 3's be hotter than people were ready for. I'm not sure a 5 is on my radar at present. But, every now and then, I get the urge.

uva left a lot of base runners. they definitely had their chances. The HOKIES had some really good defensive plays to end the threats. Couple force outs at home. A 1-6-3 double play. A running, over the shoulder catch in left by Blackwell. And (I think) one other inning ending strikeout.
That's what I was saying in the stands. But I didn't really hear any fuss from anybody else. So maybe it has to go over. Beats me.
I wish there was somewhere we could actually read the ground rules for TSP.

YES! Got to see all four home run bombs today. Yaeger's were shots to left and left center. LeGette hit hers about 2/3 the way up off the scoreboard. And McMillan bounced hers off and over the top of the wall in front of the scoreboard.

Edit: Ugh, the team is really struggling. They have stopped 3 times still in camera range of the checkpoint. Just like Ryan's team coming in a little while ago. They seem to be weaving a lot and getting stuck.

Paige is starting to get her sled ready to depart. Jessie brought a straw bale with him out of Eagle Island, so he is planning on camping for a while on the trail. Possible Paige may be able to pass him if he stays resting for a while.

The top teams are all well on their way through the Kaltag loop. Discussions with some of the mushers further back suggest that they are planning to try and take it easy on the loop to make sure their teams have enough left in the tank for the Kaltag portage to Unalakleet on the coast (more on that below) as and the final 400 miles to Nome.
Jessie Holmes pulled into Anvik at 12:34 AM local time/4:34 AM east coast with 14 dogs and is resting there now. As the first to reach the checkpoint, he wins the Dorothy G. Paige Halfway award. He has the choice between $3,000 worth of gold nuggets or a new phone with 1 year of service.
