Agree. Also USC is in a pro sports town. When they're good they bring in the ticket revenue but when they're bad or mediocre, there are bigger events in LA that people will watch. That has to diminish their value somewhat.

The other thing that sucks about this is that it all but guarantees that VT is not on the radar when the final round of conference expansion happens. We have no entry into the P2, we are locked out.
Hard not to feel like this is the signaling of a death sentence to VT athletics.

We "own" our stadium. Miami and USC do not. They have contractual agreements to the stadiums they play in.
It's an inactive ready reserve commitment, which barring a war, means they get contacted once a year with no actual service

Wrestling, Softball, Baseball, MBB. WBB, Track and Field, I agree with the WSJ.
These are the rankings from WSJ that Bar linked above. The calculation was supposedly based off what the programs would sell for if they were sold like pro franchises, but they seem basically made up to me.
USC is at 24 right behind Illinois (?!) at 23. Miami is at 40.
I love VT as much as any of us, but there's not a single metric or factor you could tell me where i would say yeah we're a bigger brand than USC
If CBB truly had anything to do with a "most valuable CFB programs" list, then we'd also see UK, Duke, and UNC in here. But we don't. Which brings me back to - why is Kansas here??

Well if the Wall Street Journal is to be believed then we should be getting the biggest payout as the most valued program. The ACC can be asked to provide justification if they disagree with that.
Two things:
- I'm very curious about how they evaluated this. Why is Kansas #17? Are FSU and Clemson low because of the lawsuit? Where is Miami? I'm stunned Oregon and Alabama are so low and USC isn't even listed.
- Is anyone else irrationally annoyed that the top 10 are listed by row then column, but 11-25 are the opposite?
I have seen at least one report that stated the other controller was sent home to save money. Whoever made that decision if true is going to be crucified.
I will be honest, I am not sure I believe it either compared to Clemson and/or FSU.

Their flight path was at the recommended altitude a plane on approach to that runway would be at the distance from the runway that the collision took place. I don't care if the incoming plane had to change runways, if the runway was open, you have to keep that corridor clear to prevent the possibility of something like this happening.
Again, safety above all else, and this wasn't safe.
Unfortunately, the justification is that we don't have an address on Tobacco Road.
