I mean wouldn't it be smarter to just remove the championship game and all tie breakers so you could have multiple champions and then sue the CFP to makesure they all get in because they are all conference champions, I mean if we're gonna a get stupid let's go all out stupid.
Dumb, dumb, dumb, stupid, terrible, dumb.
Eh, I'm not going to care that much about that. It's her current school and team. And Georgia said as much that she didn't like Virginia Tech nor Blacksburg and only was there for basketball. Not going to lose sleep over it. I was more surprised that she even was a part of it at all. My wife has a consipiracy that they aren't friends anymore as they don't interact on social media and apparently went to a mutual friend's wedding and didn't have any pictures together.

Presumptively
I ..*rereads*..
...is the ACC ran by idiots?
Funny enough... people thought HL3 would be announced late last year. lol.
The first idea seems kind of dumb, but it highlights that the BCS has made the conference championships irrelevant.
The second idea highlights how meaningless the regular season has become, as the BCS has become mostly a beauty contest until the playoffs. It also adds some meaning back into the ACC Championship game, and could be hard for the BCS to ignore, and at least the ACC would keep all the money. Unfortunately, it would likely mean lowering the seed of the champion in the playoffs in the event of a loss, where a spoiler team may not get much of a benefit.
The BCS is clearly trying to hoover up all the money and give it to the SEC and B1G, so I suppose it is worth considering some other options.
I'm going to get more speculative Half Life 3 news before I get a DC announcement aren't I?
I misunderstood at first. Didn't think it was possible to be that dumb. I thought they were adding a game before the championship game. 1st place gets a bye and plays winner of 2 vs 3. Thought they were being innovative for once.
I want to say someone else in vaguely recent history had just signed a contract before going somewhere else, maybe Jimbo Fisher?
Think it was Manny Diaz- hired at Temple then bolted for Miami...
Because he was forced to. I don't necessarily think it was his choice to fire Marve.
His contract expired on Jan. 1st, potentially before any bowl game were to be played. If Pry DIDN'T extend him, it would be similar to letting him go and Marve may have decided to find a job and left at a time that would potentially have made it difficult to find a replacement because of time of year.
Pry likely thought his friend could improve so extended him, and may very well have outlined expectations. But imagine he didn't extend him, Marve decides to find a new job, and gets one in August, meaning Pry has to find a coordinator right as the season is starting which would probably be incredibly difficult. And we only have to pay Marve if he doesn't get another coaching job. And he's likely to want a job because it would be incredibly hard to get one if he just sits on his ass for the next 2 years while he's still collecting from us.

I seem to recall a lot of speculation for the past two HC jobs and don't think anybody had guessed Fuente or Pry. After Pry was hired, some of his hires were quick, but also want to say nobody had any real inside info on who his selections were, and Bowen was a late hire because he was still coaching.
I can't imagine us being real underwhelmed with whoever has chosen. If he wasn't going to get a clear upgrade, why fire his friend?
It matters that we are still paying him and Galt until 2027.
Pry likes to talk about having "hard conversations"....he could have had one of those conversations with Marve prior to this year and let him know what he needed to see on the field to get extended.
Instead, he gave him a $50k raise and 2 more years.
If he was in any serious doubt about Marve's ability, he doesn't do that...at least not if he is competent, which I think is still quite debatable at this point.
Under contract until he wasn't. Yes, he was extended and now he doesn't have a job. If he could be let go, what does it matter that he was extended? Pry had expectations that weren't met, so let him go, simple as that.
Bring back the computers! Ha!
And by tune up game, you mean a meaningless game 11 that usually allows their key players a break before their marquee SEC season finally.
The fact the 1st option is even on the table is absurd.
What a dumb conference this is
Jim Phelps...isn't that the guy from Mission Impossible? "Good morning Mr. Phelps. Your mission should you choose to accept it is to screw up the ACC entirely. Completely FUBAR. This message will self destruct in five seconds, good luck Jim."

The ACC is innovating by integrating a meaningless bowl game directly into the conference schedule. Just another reminder that Jim Phelps was the genius who gave Pat Fitzgerald a huge contract extension at Northwestern while Fitzgerald was abusing the shit out of his players right under Phillips' nose.
This is a deeply unserious football conference.
I 100% agree.
Problem with top four idea is it guarantees three out of four teams end up with an additional loss on their record. If it was like basketball that's fine but it's not.

I knew the discrepancy was bad on the offensive boards, but when I checked the box-score I didn't realize it was 17-2. Really glad our shots were falling.
