I had Ijaz for Physics in '74-'75. He and his wife taught a summer class for teachers...using nothing but a straw, paperclip, and rubber band (iirc).
I believe he was my professor for astrophysics for a summer session - maybe '87? Great teacher, but did not get to know him personally.
I'm a Commanders fan, so I like Daniels, but I don't understand why people think Caleb Williams is soft. Is this based on superficial observations? Because I see a guy playing through injuries and who teammates speak highly of. I think both Daniels and Williams will be franchise players
Just my opinion- Williams will be a bust. He's a head case and doesn't win. Daniels- similar "numbers" won 12 games though. He's a winner, he's not soft.
Once again, the Hornets cannot put it together. I get a good laugh at all the fans that were upset we took Brandon Miller over Scoot. He has been so much fun to watch. It's nice to see the midrange game still relevant. Cavs are a ton of fun to watch. I'm also excited to see Paolo get back for the magic.
Or all of those teams have to be willing to go get the QB he wants. Pretty weak draft class at QB coming up though. I am not sure I put Caleb Williams on that list. Bears had plenty of problems, he is a headcase but his numbers are surprising for how bad their season has been.
He finished 27 yards behind Daniels with 3,541 yards, had a 20/6 TD/INT line, and completed 63% of passes. He ran for 489 yards. The big problems with him were that the line was equivalent to the Hokies so he took 68 sacks and had 6 fumbles. They couldn't run the ball for shit either with that line. If he went there he would need to go after a complete line overhaul. Defense there is really good and only had three games of 30+ points. Twice to Minnesota and one in the one week San Francisco had everyone healthy on offense.
no bigger dunk on the SEC than basically just rolling their long and storied histories that Just Mean More into one composite Hatable Middling Gulf Coast School. Kiffin has never been HC at Auburn, but really -- Auburn, Ole Miss, Kiffin, Freeze, what difference does it even make?

That's how my dad was when he taught high school science. You can see a great example of similar stuff by looking at some of Robert Burk's( from the University of Ottawa) videos on you tube .

All coaches are on-field coaches now. So, it would just be a reassignment of who is leading safety instruction, film room, etc.
It's a general trend that HS recruits move south to play football. Being one of the most Southern schools in the B1G could be a small recruiting advantage.
exactly, you have to maintain the recruiting relationships so that you have an advantageous position when the time comes and it matters
and even if VHSL talent is down, there are enough P5 players from the commonwealth that are highly rated every year. "Dominating the state" and getting 13 of the top-30 in-state recruits (or whatever) is nice, but i really would like to see more and more of the top-5 coming here instead of PSU, Clemson, Tenn, UF, FSU so forth. And Maryland. I never understood that one.

VT wants to save money by not paying itself more money. I get that the Athletic Dept. and Academic side are two different ledgers, but seems like a dog chasing it's own tail.
It will be a good game. The right side of the PSU OL is legit, and they will try to get the run game going there. ND has a good defense though. I think it will be a physical low scoring game. Question is - is this the week Franklin under-performs against a team that has also underperformed in the post season for most of the past 30 years. Something has to give.

Agreed. If I am him, my criteria is one thing- can the QB fucking play? that is ALL that matters in the NFL... so Raiders, Browns, Indy, Jets, Giants, Panthers, Bears (yes) - are off my list. Those guys can't fucking play. Can't fucking play and Bellichick knows it. You MUST have a QB in this league- a real one- not Anthony Richardson.
So, of course I don't have a dog in the fight, I just want to see a good game, but is it bad that a small part of me wants PSU to lose tonight so that it prevents us from possibly having to wait another week to find out if DEX is our or not?

Had a friend who went to Auburn. His girlfriend and her sister both went there. Their dad, a Georgia fan, refused to talk to them for weeks afterwards if Auburn beat Georgia. Tree poisoners, warrants issued for Phil Fulmer, I think SEC takes the cake for obnoxious fan bases. Better food, tho...
He doesn't need any of that to cement his name in the record books though. He's 14 wins away. That's two mediocre seasons, or three bad ones. Like you said, he doesn't have a lot left to prove, but getting win 348 has to be an exciting prospect. Then he can go back to spending time with his 26 year old girlfriend or whatever.

I don't really know whether Williams will be a success or not, but agree that having an aura similar to Prince does not make one soft. Just ask Charlie Murphy.
