Go to Charlotte for the 3rd and 4th and get a twofer
Shining Bright in the Queen City ๐ Watch history in the making as the Virginia Tech Men's Ice Hockey team hit the ice on January 4, 2025, for the New Year's Classic against the North Carolina Tar Heels in Charlotte! pic.twitter.com/LOeVycGWKjโ VT Ice Hockey (@VTicehockey) December 2, 2024
Minnesota is a good team
I will choose to be pleased with this news
I think it is. Likely because of how late Thanksgiving was this year.
It is hilarious that the ACC was in the tank for Miami all season long and they still couldn't get them in the playoffs.
It's not Florida, but it's also not New York.
And it is not a G5 opponent which I had already resigned myself to being the likely opponent. Was expecting an underwhelming opponent. Finally, Charlotte is very doable for a large portion of the fan base.
This is a good matchup all things considered.
rich rod... this gif..
holy shit, it's been SOOOOO long...
good match up. good bowl.
January 3rd feels late, or is that just me?
ESPN has us Duke's Mayo vs. Minnesota.
Exactly what I said in another thread, haha.
Did you hear about the new phobia of kids not wanting to sit on Santa's lap? It's called Claustrophobia.
6-6 doesn't get you sexy. I'm just glad it's not some 2 loss G5 team that we get no credit for beating and catch a load of shit if we lose.
PJ Fleck looks like a man who covers himself in mayo at home just for fun.
Started hatin' on a little early, sorry.
And two of the conference losses were to 6-6 teams. No team should ever get an at large bid with three losses with two of those being to .500 teams.
Saban is just building up a strawman with that line of thinking. They lost because they didn't have any good OOC wins and had three conference losses. Ironically had they scheduled a stronger OOC slate and won they may have had a more compelling argument.
This one might have reached a new low. Isaac McKneely made a three with 10:19 to go to put Virginia up 45-38, capping a personal 7-0 run โ McKneely had converted a four-point play on UVA's previous trip down the court.
Virginia lost 63-51. Sounds familiar.
Bama didn't exactly have a tough OOC schedule. Only played 1 P4 OOC games, Wisconsin and they aren't even bowl eligible. Saban talked about their tough OOC schedule and teams they are playing in the future, no mention of this year's weak OOC.
SMU played 2 P4 OOC games, BYU and TCU and went 1-1.
This just in. Five @SEC teams have decided to go independent because winning is hard. News at 11.@CFBPlayoff @espn pic.twitter.com/BFV9hMMNA1โ Robert Peterson (Hokies IceintheVeins) (@REPETEinDC) December 8, 2024
Lol like that is the reason they weren't in. They lost 3 SEC games! Couldn't even win their own conference. Bama fans are hilariously spoiled.
Miami in Pop Tarts Bowl seems appropriate
PJ Fleck is going to have his team ready. You know that man wants to get covered in mayo on live TV.
The biggest comedy on twitter so far are all the Bama fans saying something like this:
Alabama should never schedule a tough game again. End of story. The committee just ruined College Football.โ TorresOnBama (@TorresonBama) December 8, 2024
If Alabama gets left out they should be on the phone tomorrow cancelling all future power 4 games, no reason to play difficult games if it counts for nothing.โ JCBAMA (@Bamafan19692) December 8, 2024
Not exactly sexy but a B1G opponent will give us a good test and opportunity for Pop.
Looks like Minnesota is the opponent.

This is my legitimate most favorite thing from how it all shook out. ACC shilled so badly for Miami. Handed them 2 wins (that was absolutely targeting versus Cal, and you can't convince me otherwise) and Miami still said...Nah, we ain't bak yet.
