So Hoffman will be the starting right guard for the Cowboys the rest of the season. Martin to IR with surgery on his ankle, and may retire after the season. Hoffman has been good in his 4 starts split between last year and this year. In 205 pass blocking snaps over those starts, Hoffman has allowed no sacks and just 13 pressures. He's been displaying some real nastiness too.

Jeff Overton was thought to be the favorite to repeat but they gave it to Gideon Davidson at Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg. They are both RB/DB guys. Davidson had more yards, less TDs and five less INTs. Davidson also was a 3A guy while Overton was a 6A guy which in VA are very different levels of competition. Curious if the Hayfield scandal played a part.
We will get to see a lot of Davidson though as he signed with Clemson.

Finally got home and had a chance to watch the game last night. I thought we played much better than the comments on here would suggest. They definitely got a little official home cooking early on, and Wenzel did not do much all game, but we knew we were more of a committee team this season. Complete lack of offensive rebounds off the missed threes stood out to me. Would have been a comfortable win with a few of those. Samyha did a better job offensively at point than Carleigh, but Carleigh's length really bothered their guards and made a difference defensively.

Bronco can coach... granted I lost a little respect for him throwing it to a tackle to try to beat VT- UVAs rival. That was one of the more clown coaching calls I can remember.

We would not- however taking Vick with would have been a lot harder. Vick would have to sit a year, etc. But the difference between Beamer and Brooks was that Beamer actually values loyalty.
