He's 124-96 at VT per sportsreference (.564). Seth Greenberg was .580 at VT.

I'm not against keeping CMY. I think he's been fine and I like the idea of focusing our efforts/resources on football. That said, I think Greenberg had a much tougher ACC to play in than Mike has. The ACC has gotten much softer in the last 10 years. It's not really a good comparison. I think if Greenberg was coaching in the last 6 years he'd probably be closer to .700

11:20 EST - looking at live standings map shows Paige in 1st place at mile 124, 1 mile ahead of second place. All of the top ten are resting, most of them at mile 123. except Peter Kaiser who just started running again and is a mile back. Two of the expedition mushers are also with Paige resting at mile 124, but they dont count.

This. Metallica sells wherever they choose to go. Hell - they played in Antartica and sold that out!

But the point about drawing other acts in is a big deal not just to get more entertainment into the area which at best would normally have to go to Roanoke to host - it creates a year-round stream of visitors to Blacksburg instead of it being a place to visit from August-November and January-May, which should in theory mean more hotels, which then means more convenience for visitors, which means more establishments to handle the visitors, which means more draw for year-round residents, which means more local & educated residents, which means more attractive opportunities for business growth, etc etc... Basically, creating a new area turns Blacksburg and VT from a talent incubation area into a year-round destination metropolis.

EDIT: While also highly HIGHLY unlikely to happen, a new arena would likely have the right amount of space for a hockey rink...I would absolutely LOVE to see VT get varsity programs. It would add another game to the arena schedule on a weekly basis (yay more ticket revenue) and I could easily see the arena occupied DAILY on weeks when both men's and women's BB have games, then throwing hockey on top of it along with wrestling... and it would drive more jersey sales (yay even more revenue). The VT club hockey teams has arguably the best looking jerseys across all the sports at VT, and those things sell fast (ref image below).

DOUBLE EDIT: I'm not sure how a CMY-returning-in-26/27 thread resulted in Ice Hockey, but here we are.

Mercedes looking strong this year. If I had money left in my betting account, I'd be betting on Russell to win the Driver's Championship, and Mercedes the Constructor's. But Ferrarri looks improved from last year, and Hamilton is driving it well. And Max coming from the back of the field to 6th is pretty impressive. The Top 4 are the Top 4 for a reason, I guess.

After watching Australia, the pro I see of this new F1 regulation set is the constant battling on track.

Con is the drivers are no longer pushing to the limit.

The new wing (which we only saw a test version of and Vasseur has said will be on the car in a few races time) works in conjunction with a new exhaust plate. The exhaust hits a plate which forces the hot hair upward right into the upside down wing on the straights, generating even MORE lift. They could only accomplish this based on where in the legality boxes they put their exhaust. It's fascinating.

There is obviously something to it because Red Bull has also said they will have a similar concept in a few races as well.

Ahh ok was not aware of the WVU move... The dude just seems super high energy and very well connected (Neo connection, etc.) and should be a great recruiter. Would love to see him in charge.

Metallica definitely has a connection to VT. But Metallica isn't playing anywhere they cant sell out at this point, they will fill anywhere they play at.

Id like to see the crowd we could draw here with a smaller name, maybe some random chicken shit country artist. That would test the market a lot better IMHO.

First video from the analysts. They are in Finger Lake, 123 miles in.

Very heavy winds are blowing out of the Alaska Range, which will be right in the mushers face as they are doing the fairly modest uphill to Finger Lake. Was very calm at Willow, but the wind is so strong in Finger Lake that it masks their voice at times.

Belief is that the wind and cold will help pack the trail well and give a fast surface. The wind will keep people who take breaks to find sheltered areas when they stop. Thought was the top teams would take 1 break on the trail before Skwentna and then a second break along the trail before Finger Lakes. The less competitive teams may rest in Skwentna itself.

Monday morning, March 9 ~6 AM east coast/2 AM Alaska. The top 13 teams + 2 expedition mushers are on the trail from Skwenta to Finger Lakes. Another 10 are in Skwentna. Thomas Waerner and Kjell Rokke are 100 miles in and running with 12 dogs each. Standings are:

1. Jessie Holmes running 16 dogs 99 miles in/876 to Nome
2. Michelle Phillis running 16 dogs 94 miles in/881 to Nome
3. Paige Drobny running 16 dogs 94 miles in/881 to Nome
4. Matt Hall running 16 dogs 93 miles in/882 to Nome
5. Millie Porsild running 16 dogs 92 miles in/883 to Nome
6. Bailey Vitello running 16 dogs 92 miles in/883 to Nome
7. Rohn Buser running 16 dogs 91 miles in/884 to Nome
8. Lauro Eklund running 16 dogs 89 miles in/886 to Nome
9. Riley Dyche running 16 dogs 88 miles in/887 to Nome
10. Ryan Redington running 16 dogs 88 miles in/887 to Nome

The Red Lantern position is Grayson Burton, running 16 dogs 65 miles in/910 to Nome.

One of the expedition mushers, Steve Curtis, is behind Grayson.

They've got a nice market cornered on Euro guys & proven development

No sauces or anything. Hope he does come back and thrives in year 2. Would be good to see
