Even though the Hoos have the same conference record, I don't think you can say they are in charge of their own destiny.

That's a bad team that needs to play beyond themselves, and hope for their opponent to play poorly, to win any of their remaining conference games.

Nah, it's still the UNC game. Nothing he has done so far indicates that he ever looks ahead, so this is just gonna be business as usual.

Um, ATM runs a spread (and it gives Saban fits.)
In my opinion its exactly what you need to win in the SEC. I think Auburn made the Championship game a few years ago after they ran Loeffler out of town. Maybe not a bad coincidence.

I agree. They were ranked in the top 10 pre-season, not that rankings that early really matter all that much.

Anybody with that much talent has the potential to win any game if you don't take them seriously, even if they've stumbled all season long.

While I'm definitely all about taking one game at a time (1-0 bro!), i'm schematically not scared against Syracuse as much as I am vs Miami and Pitt. I like our changes against spread / tempo teams, but I'm not yet sold on our ability against power teams that pound you in the I-formation. BC is such an anomaly in that they have such crappy talent that they're not a good representation of how we'd do against a good team. So i'm cautiously optimistic for having a better season this year, but i'm not sold on 10 wins just yet.

Side note! What are you folks most surprised about? The quick turn around in O this year? Increased ST play? Or our amazing return to our gold-standard in D?

Even the author of that chart somewhat agrees the Tennessee game never happened. We're 3-0 at home, 1-0 on the road. 4-0. Undefeated. I like it!

Thanks! Hadn't noticed that they label the sidelines. Got some relatively cheap Row A seats in Section 114.

Time to get the offense a day, make up statistically for the rain game. VT 61, SU 23.

We need to be focused every game from here on out. ND might be playing like a bad team, but they have an NFL QB and years of better recruiting. We don't need to be writing anyone off yet.

Games I feel confident about if we show up: Syracuse, Duke, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, u.va.
Games I feel like we could be in a dog fight: Miami, Pitt.
Team I want us to absolutely embarrass on national tv: Clemson.
Teams I want in a bowl game if we do not make the playoff: Tennessee, Michigan, or Ohio State to get revenge!

Looking ahead may not be a problem, but overconfidence can still be. I haven't seen the weather report for the Carrier Dome, but we still haven't been tested with a deficit since Bristol and 'Cuse could come out swinging.

9 out of 12 quarters have been shutouts. (and 4 of 6 halves)

We need a Bud Light "Real Men of Genius" commercial for the field guys who get the drainage right.

I understand they had less rain in Chapel Hill, but it wasn't the wading pool they had at the NC State game in Raleigh.

One of the more impressive parts of our defense's performance was how they held UNC to a FG after we fumbled in our own territory, and held them scoreless after they took over on downs in the 2nd half after the punt debacle.

We capitalized on UNC's mistakes. Our defense prevented them from capitalizing on our mistakes.

If you go with Fuente's premise of every week being a whole season, there are no trap games. Only games.

It's a mission-focused approach, and we can only hope the team now has it in their DNA.
