After sleeping on it, I'm with Fuente: great hard fought win, but many more goals this season.
We are just 2-0 in conference. 6 more conference games plus Notre Dame.
We are no more in control of our own destiny in the ACC than we were in week one.
The batted down ball would have been a TD to Ford in the back of the end zone. IIRC
That certainly was fun. According to them, we should be sending Ron Cherry a box of chocolates and all going to church tomorrow to thank the Almighty for sending us that hurricane just in time to play that game. I don't recall ever seeing such a collection of whiners all bunched up with their panties in a wad. Ha, stuff it cheaters!
I thought a 14 win season was now a possibility?!
Where exactly on an anatomy chart does one find the "assball?"
You know what? Forget I asked.
Absolutely improved, but that d-line is vastly improved too!
It sure is a trap game and I hope Syracuse isn't looking past us!!! /s
^^^^this...it won't happen, but it'd sure make for a hell of a night game in Lane!!!
I can see it in Fuente, just under the outer skin, waiting to erupt... but he controls it, because he knows that it's not time, yet...
Dude wants to DANCE!
I just bought them through Ticketmaster, who handles the official ticket sales through the box office, but there's no guarantee we'll be surrounded by Hokies, but at least we have decent seats on the visitor sideline.
I hope they keep Miami and ND in high regard despite all the facts to the contrary. We want every team we play to go 11-1 with the lone loss to the Hokies.
So awesome.
You can't run this offense in the sec. They said during the aTm Vs. Tenn game that all these spread coaches came to sec and quickly realized they have to adapt to the sec Pro style offense.

One thing keeps bugging the shit out of me though, I was front row in the corner of the north stands close to the student section and when the game ended. I thought there was no way they would come down this far and started walking toward the rest of Hokie Nation and totally missed any opportunity an shaking the players hands. Really disappointed in myself that I wasn't patient enough to wait and see.
Borders are a little rough, but here you go!

Syracuse.

:--) Turkey to you, and I agree.
The TOP stats from yesterday are amazing. Recall watching at times and
we weren't moving the ball much. But it's okay, we've got the ball, they can't score.
Excellent.
He played well considering the conditions. Those extra yards he would grind out
on broken plays really made a difference.
Had a great time at the game, met a lot of Hokies. The thing about Hokie nation is the love we all have for each other. It doesn't matter that I've never met you before. I'm going to high five you, hug you, and jump with you no matter what.
It's the wink and the nod when we pass each other recognizing the VT logo we are wearing. From my perspective and I'm obviously biased, there is no greater fan base.
And coach Fuente got to see what we all know about Hokie Nation...
"It was pretty cool, when we came out on the field. it was pretty special to start the game. The Hokie Nation didn't care if it was raining and that was pretty powerful. Makes you really proud to work here. You know it's important to a lot of people I was thinking to myself, I sure would like to win ball games for these people because they sure are passionate about their kids, their Hokies, and it was a pretty cool experience, it really was."
Key Player's Log
Day 37
One of these days, we're going to let an ACC team score more than one field goal in a game.
Hype package has been received. Awareness is returning. Horse on a Treadmill tee currently undefeated.
My bet is that he is #25 next week...

FUENTE has been a boss so far at adding wrinkles to the game. From stroman punting, to the run pass option roll out that ford was wide open but overthrown on, wr jet passes where ford barley overthrows a wide open Bucky Hodges....god I love this guy! We are back baby! Can't wait to see what gets worked in for the next game!
